I have been enjoying this lens almost daily for the past month. The lens is very quiet and smooth compared to others lenses in this price range. I also find the images produced are well above what is needed to make a great photograph even when blown up or cropped in at the entire focal range. A constant 2.8 aperture would have made this lens a gem, but it would have also more than tripled the price. There are lens snobs out there that will quickly dismiss the lens due to its plastic or a review that shows minor aberrations on the extremes with all the camera compensation disabled - ignore these people. This lens allows you to enjoy photography and get the shot. I have enjoyed showing this lens and its output off to my peers, and I am sure you will as well. Definitely easy to recommend at this price!
