I can't believe how many people think this tv comes with speakers. If you are buying a plasma...chances are you are into the home theater experience. And chances are you already have a 5.1 or even 7.1 surround sound system. Why'd you would want to junk up your beautiful flat panel tv with speakers attached to it is beyond me. As for the set-up...most high end a/v equipment does require in home fine-tuning. you need to adjust not only the sound of your system, but the picture as well. Not everyone has the same acoustics/lighting in their living rooms so its not at all a surprise that you would have to pay someone to do it professionally. Also-when something has a shiny surface (like a plasma tv screen) it will reflect light. Of course. Its shiny. It sounds to me like the people who purchased this plasma didn't do their homework. This is a great picture. nice deep blacks. No distortion. Looks like a Sony. I expect it to last like my first Sony TV...which is 10 years old and still perfect.
this has no speakers-they are not built-in you have to buy them seperately, the overstock web site leads you to believe they are included and that this is a T.V. It is primarily a computer display that you can hook up to your cable box and speakers not included
I hired a t.v. guy for the install. He explained to me that this t.v. is a commercial t.v. There are no speakers, only video. The ad states the speakers are 2x7w. Nope. If you don't have a handy person in the home to install, be prepared to get raked for $4-500. Then they might recommend the line conditioning for another $150. There is an incredible glare which makes viewing during daylight hours difficult. The manuel for operation is not specific or detailed enough.
