  • Design flaw

    This camera (FDR AX1) Sony slipped up on. Two main issues are: 1) this camera needs major light to survive. Forget low light, this camera struggles in medium light and forces you to use major external lighting and have to use the gain (causing unwanted noise in the video). 2) The manual focus is horrible and does not keep consistent. I zoom in, grab focus, pull out and in a minute a faithfully have a blurry shot. (automatic focus is no problem) For professional use this camera is a big disappointment. I would suggest another camera, regardless of what you intend to use this for (professional or consumer). I have researched these problems and found this to not be an isolated incident but a common problem amongst users. Hope this helps.
