    • the last, best portable CD player

      With the advent of Playaway books the size of a matchbox, I can see the end of the portable CD player in the next 10 years or so, except for a niche market, so it is a pleasure to get this, probably the best and last of the great Sony portable CD players (I also have the best and last tape player from Sony). So far, after a couple of weeks, it works flawlessly and better than its predecessor. I especially like the volume control, which I can turn up high enough to drown out the noise in the gym from various classes like Zumba and kickboxing. The earphones are much better than those earbuds, which never worked right for me and which don't produce enough volume to drown out the gym noise.

      A previous reviewer wrote:"Overall I love the player. I'm a little worried about the button that controls the on/off, forward/back. I can just envision it breaking or breaking off ". I must co-sign that. I think that it will break eventually. But that's what buyer protection is for. Must also add that the skip feature on this player is EXCELLENT. Have owned about 5 units and this is the best skip protection I've seen. Right on par with the Panasonic. It's a little more expensive, but after two weeks of use, I am quite happy I spent the extra 20 dollars. The earbuds are a little uncomfortable. The handstrap comes in handy (literally), because you almost have to carry the unit in your hand this due to the shortness of the cord. Headphones notwithstanding, I'd recommend this player to my friends

    • sony refurbished cd player

      this is a refurbished cd player. the on button is hard to work. when you press it - it doesn't always come on.sometimes you have to push it a number of times to get it to play.
