This is a good CD player. I like everything about it except the button to start it playing. I have to try several times to get it started.

Overall I love the player. I'm a little worried about the button the controls the on/off, forward/back. I can just envision it breaking or breaking off. I would have felt better if the button was on the top of the player like all the other selection buttons. But so far so good. It's easy to use and sounds great.

With the advent of Playaway books the size of a matchbox, I can see the end of the portable CD player in the next 10 years or so, except for a niche market, so it is a pleasure to get this, probably the best and last of the great Sony portable CD players (I also have the best and last tape player from Sony). So far, after a couple of weeks, it works flawlessly and better than its predecessor. I especially like the volume control, which I can turn up high enough to drown out the noise in the gym from various classes like Zumba and kickboxing. The earphones are much better than those earbuds, which never worked right for me and which don't produce enough volume to drown out the gym noise.

I must co-sign that. I think that it will break eventually. But that's what buyer protection is for. Must also add that the skip feature on this player is EXCELLENT. Have owned about 5 units and this is the best skip protection I've seen. Right on par with the Panasonic. It's a little more expensive, but after two weeks of use, I am quite happy I spent the extra 20 dollars. The earbuds are a little uncomfortable. The handstrap comes in handy (literally), because you almost have to carry the unit in your hand this due to the shortness of the cord. Headphones notwithstanding, I'd recommend this player to my friends

this is a refurbished cd player. the on button is hard to work. when you press it - it doesn't always come on.sometimes you have to push it a number of times to get it to play.

I do lawncare for a living. I looked for a CD player that would not skip while I worked. Well this is definitly the one. I've played thousands of hours of books on cd on this player while it was being bounced, jostled, dropped, jiggled and any other motion you can imagine while driving a tractor on rough terrain. This player has been seriously abused, dropped etc... and it still plays great. I can not recommend this player enough especially for the individuals who need NO SKIP.

Have tried a number of portable cd players and they all skipped when bumped or jiggled. I use this in working in a barn and find the sport walkman to be perfect for the environment I use it in. Well designed and well made and a value for the price.

Hard to find a discman that never skips when I'm gardening, running, etc. Gratful to have such a reliable product. Thanks!

I have had a Sony DSJ301 Portable CD Player/ Walkman since 2003. I use it almost daily and was afraid I would wear it out with overuse. I wanted another exactly like it because it is perfect for sound recorded books. It keeps my place until I return to the book. I can recharge the battery right in the player which really saves on batteries. It also works with the wall plug. It does not skip and the sound is excellent. I was so happy to find this particular CD player on Overstock.com because I could find it no place else.

I love this cd player. It has great sound and has alot of features and is skip proof. I would def recommend this cd player!!! I love it

The player can be started but stops at random moments. it would be great if it would play music without stopping.
