Awesome
The 500DX is a great in expensive product. Its easy smooth operating 3way head works just like those more expensive professional one on the market today. Althought its wieght can be a little heavy when taking those long walks in nature, once setup it can with stand high winds and driving rain. One draw back to this tripod is the lack of a biult in leveler, so make sure you have a kean eye or a leveler on your camera to keep things straight. Over all for the price IT WORKS GREAT!!!!

Meeeting expectations
Once again I'm not disappointed in the SLIK line of tripods. I stand 6'-7" in height, and that fact was the primary influence in purchasing this product. With the full height capabilities of over 70", this is a very good piece of equipment for the tall photographer. The product has a solid build quality, and is can assume almost any shooting configuration imaginable. Perfect for studio work, but may be a little to heavy for backpacking or nature work. That of course is a personal preference. My decision was between this SLIK model and the Manfrotto 055x. At over $100 in cost difference and negligible performance attributes, the choice was an easy one.
