Still haven't figured out how to hook up stereo turntable, but will later. FYI, for the speakers & surround sound to be turned on the receiver will need to "simply" be programmed to recognize the speaker. Other things you troubleshoot may also lie in the receiver being programmed by you to recognize the component. I would say all in all this is well worth your money. I am the wife, so was able to hook all my components up, including HD television, surround sound, CD player, etc. w/minimal difficulty - so yes! a woman can handle this transition w/minimal brain power, heheh!...
