    • Hello jabelwaucki, this is a 3.5 Inch drive enclosure, and needs a power cord. The USB can not provide enough power to run drive. 2.5 Inch Drive enclosures can run strictly off the USB Data connection, though, the generally don't offer nearly as much space as the 3,5 Inch Drive enclosures, such as 3T and 4T.
