This scanner is absolutely amazing. My entire desk full of paper and clutter was gone overnight. First it scans the front and the back of the paper in one feed. Pluss multiple sheets get saved into one pdf. You can save the files automatically to any folder (in my case dropbox). It;s super easy to use and probably the best investment i ever made.

I have owned many scanners, this one has great features. Installation was a breeze. One disk that ran great on both of my computers and the software was installed. Only one cable from the computer to the scanner ( no power cord). Then I was up. I have already scanned over 300 photos and have had no problems. The scanner is small, easily stored, and quiet. I would buy another.

The obvious advantage of the 4800 is its well designed approach to scanning book pages: Having the scanner glass come to the edge of the unit so that scanning pages without any hint of a binder shadow is simply part of the design is a great idea. Of course, providing the scanner with the ability to scan high resolutions quickly is equally important to the often arduous task of transforming book chapters into Portable Document Files and this scanner provides plenty of speed for that part of the job as well. The inclusion of "Book Pavillion" software to scan multiple pages into a single PDF adds simplicity and speed to the process and automates certain functions such as delimiting the scan area to the book page size automatically, allowing for color, gray scale, and black and white scans on the fly, and making provision for rotating pages to a common orientation before generating the final PDF. The software can even automatically rotate odd or even scans to produce a uniform orientation without user intervention. The result is that scan jobs are done quickly and yield a final document the quality of which can only be considered exceptional.

Great little scanner, fast , easy, can choose options with a touch of the button. It's really a space saver too. Can scan anything from paper to cards.

I purchased the ScanSnap because I read positive reviews about it online. I have been very disappointed with paper jams, crooked scans, etc. I wish I would have gotten a bigger, better scanner. It would have been worth the extra dollars to help me get things done in a timely fashion. If I could return it, I probably would. It has been a disappointment.

The best investment I've made in a while. I've had 4 different scanners. This one tops them all!

This allows me to have much less paper clutter but be aware, it takes time. At times, the Scan Snap screens have frozen up on me which is my main frustration. 2 other things niggle my patience but are not serious. One is that longer receipts will not scan and have to be cut in half and scanned as two pages. The other is that, if there is a small nib on the top of a receipt from it being torn off the register, it must be snipped off to feed through the scanner. Even with those 3 drawbacks, I would purchase again.

I purchased this scanner to help us when scanning books and needed another scanner. I works well great, the software that came with it is easy to learn and use.
Your new scanner can help you digitize your photo album, scan documents to send by e-mail and make copies for printing. Scanners and printers are essential office electronics for home or business. Knowing the answers to a few of these frequently asked questions will help you identify the right scanner for whatever imaging projects you have in mind. Common Scanner Questions: What does scanner "color depth" mean? Color depth, also called bit depth, is measured in bits; bits are individual data points (1 byte = 8 bits). Higher depth means greater contrast or differentiation in the image coloring. Read More
