The TV has a good picture but the sound is very tinny. That goes with buying some thing that the people do not stand behind but we take our chances and learn!Arnie
Refurbished stuff is not the same as a brand new factory packed product. It works ok but not the best.
We bought this TV for a small space where we have a computer. The TV arrived a few days after I placed the order. Setup was easy and we connected the unit to our cable box. I also connected my video game system with no problem at all. The instruction book covered the basics. The sound is clear and after I tilted the screen, the picture was sharp. I've had enough experience with LCD screens to know how important the tilt of the screen can be to see it correctly. If it's wrong, the screen will look black and you just can't view it. We've been upgrading our TVs one by one to high-definition. I have had good results with LCD screens and wanted this replacement to have it also. Sanyo is a name we trust and we are well pleased with this TV set. I would recommend the set with no reservations. We have purchased many items from Overstock and have recommended the company to friends. I find refurbished items to perform as well as new. This is just the latest item we've bought this way.
I have been using this as both a Television Set in my home office, and a monitor on my Desktop. To say I am pleased would be understatement. The picture, sound and overall quality of the set up is excellent, and it's operation is so straightforward that the instruction manual was almost unnecessary. A quick glance at it told me all I needed to know.As a computer monitor it is excellent, large enough to provide even my 68 year old eyes with plenty of screen space, and the clarity is also good. Television reception is as good as anything I own, and the picture quality is superior. The cabinet is, as far as I can tell, flawless, and the screen has no visible problems. I have not connected a VCR, DVD player or Video Camera yet, but if the unit works as well with them as it does with the computer, I will be delighted. The only minor complaint is the operation of the input selector. It only goes one way, and to switch from PC Monitor to DTV receiver it is necessary to go thorough 4 separate functions. It would be nice to be able to back up with that control. Also, there is a definite learning curve with the Menu Commands, but they are used infrequently.
Not only do I get the regular basic cable lineup I also get HD on my local channels. This is a great TV and I also use it for my computer monitor. I'm 69 years old and had absolutely no problem setting up to TV as well as my cable internet/computer.Only one slight little problem. I guess you'd say it's "one" pixel missing. I marked it with a blue pen so that it doesn't show a small bright spot while I'm viewing TV.So refurbished or not, I'm enjoying HD and a 19 inch monitor.
