Unfortunately, this item is refurbished, though the description does not indicate that. And it required Windows 98 to use, again, an important piece of information left out of the description. Furthermore, when returned for lack of correct information on the description, I was charged for the shipping. So far we have had REALLY bad experience purchasing electronics from Overstock.
I purchased this for my computer/new technology-challenged husband. He found it easy to operate and is very happy with it. Some of the MP3 players I've seen are quite small. This one is the size of our cell phone -- perfect!! Small enough to put in a shirt pocket but not so small that it's hard to read or easy to lose.
I purchased the Sansa Connect as a backup for my Sansa View. It does everything the view does and more since it has a built in speaker so that earphones are optional. I bought a second one for my grandchild knowing that it can be played at a noise level that will not be harmful. It's also great for videos on long trips ( for impatient children). The price is better than some toys and the kids love it.
I bought 3 of these for Christmas. I opened up one early to test. It's really nice for the price. There are some minor issues though. First there is a scuff mark on the screen. There is a velour case that is included so I don't know why they don't secure the player or at least cover the screen during shipping. Also, no sound without the headphones. For my husband, he will always use the headphones due to hard of hearing but I may have to return the others if they are like this one. It's a shame because these are really nice if everything worked & wasn't scratched.....I knew there was no wifi. You can rollback the firmware to get it but alot of the features inetended for the connect are disappearing so I don't think I'll waste my time rolling it back.
