I have enjoyed several samsung products in the past, I have a Galaxy s2 that I love but I cant say this enough: This is a terrible monitor. Samsung manufactures terrible monitors. It is the second Samsung monitor i have purchased in the last 6 weeks because the last one (Samsung P2770FH 27-inch ) was defective out of the box, I have another review for that one on its page. After my previous experience with the other monitor I thought it was a fluke. Samsung has been building a reputation for quality and I do love my phone and several other smaller products. However, this monitor has been so flaky. It was a breeze to set up, very neatly packaged and shipped fast enough (one week from Florida to the west coast) It assembled quickly and started up fine. I don't like the touch button controls, there is no feedback to know that the monitor has registered any input (menu, power etc.), you just have to trust that it works. This makes for a very pleasing design but it is simply not functional, so please, Samsung, in the future just hide the buttons. My biggest problem with the monitor is that it will simply decide to switch from one input to another as if the cable came undone which is of course not the case. and the only way to stop the flickering between inputs is a hard reset. Nobody wants to corrupt their hard drive because of a faulty monitor. That being said, look elsewhere.

Really easy to set up, very good looking monitor. I connected it to my laptop using the HDMI port, text does not look as sharp as in my other two Samsung LCD Syncmaster monitors, a 24" and a 26", but those are 1920x1200, and are no longer available. Even the old Syncmaster 243T, with no HDMI input and connected thru the VGA port, gives you a much sharper text and much sharper lines when you work with AUTOCAD. It is a pity they do not make those models any more. Perfect for wathing pictures and movies (probably also for games, I do not play any), but not so good for text, ACAD or other programs where you need sharp lines..

This monitor is pretty awesome. It looks nice because of the picture quality and it's also slim. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not sturdy, sometimes when I type I see the monitor shake a little bit. Not a big deal, but noticeable.

Messed with colors and brightness/contrast but never got anything close to my 5 year old Samsung 226bw. And the stand is way under engineered. I have a pretty sturdy desk, but the monitor would wobble at the slightness movement. Super distracting... sorry, pass on this model.

As a graphic designer. this monitor has everything it promised and everything I wanted. It provides sharp images and astoundingly true color reproduction. Both of those attributes are very important to me. But the monitor stand is a disaster. It does not affix to the stand. It is held in place by a square peg in a square hole hole. It can and will fall of the stand with the slightest jiggle. I now have a nice 2 inch crack in my screen. It still works. But the design is very poor. I would happily buy a separate wall mount for it, but it does not accommodate a standard universal wall mount. I own 2 Samsung big screen TVs. I love them. I love this monitor - if only I could get it to stop falling off the stand. You will be happy with about any Samsung monitor - but get one with a secure desk or wall mount.

Screen is good if you're looking for an HD screen to watch stuff on while sitting in an upright position because the screen is not adjustable and if you sit at a lower angle you will not see the colors as displayed. If you expect an adjustable screen do not buy this one because the screen cannot move from the position it is in and it is facing in a slight upwards position.

Up until this purchase I never even considered buying a "refurbished" monitor. I always thought of refurbished products as used/restored lemons. But my timing was bad and prices went from low to high very quickly after the Holidays and seeing as how the price was only a little over 50% of retail, it was hard to resist taking the chance. So I did a little research before hand and learned a few interesting things about "refurbished" products, such as; they go through the same quality control standards as new and a lot of times they are infact new but just can't sell as new for whatever reason including open boxed. etc. So I went out on a limb and purchased 2 of these for a little over the cost of 1 new one elsewhere and I am very happy that I did! The monitors and accessories were all there and in their original packaging, (except for the manual, both monitors were missing the manual) everything looked perfect and untouched. No scratches, scuffs, dings or otherwise. Everything looks brand new to me. Assembly was easy, hooked the monitors up and the picture looks great! I'm no videophile, so I cannot comment too much on picture quality in comparison to other models, but I am more than happy with it. No ghosting, dead pixels or light bleed and that is all I was really concerned about. Cable management is nice, but hard to accomodate thicker HDMI cables especially with the placement of the HDMI port on the back panel, but its hardly an issue as I was able to get it in. The only problem with these monitors, which comes from my girlfriend, is she thinks they're too big! But that's her problem, I love these monitors and am very happy with my purchase and I would definately recommend!

I ran into a few snags setting mine up. I never did get the HDMI working. But it may be a problem with my system and have nothing to do with the monitor. I have a 24" Dell next to it on DVI and I honestly can't tell the difference between the two and this one is on Analog. Soft touch buttons are another thing all together. I don't know who thought that they were a good idea, but just try finding the damn thing in the dark! They are way too small and with no feed back you never know if you pushed it or not. It's one feature I could really do without. But so far I can't tell this monitor from brand new. it works fine, just hard to get use to turning on a light just to find the button to turn the monitor on. The Dell 24" I have has a real button easy to see and easy to use. I just wish this had the same setup. You really can't understand how annoying it is unless you have one. My monitor at work has the same issue.

My husband has been talking about getting a new monitor for awhile. That's when I started researching monitors and then I came across this one. I decided it would be his Christmas present. When he opened it up and realized what it was he was amazed and immediately installed it.you see is a gamer on the pc and just any games he'll only play war games. So you can imagine all the noise since christmas. He loves the screen, style, and the picture. I think I did good this year.

I have been very happy with my Samsung S27A550H 27-inch monitor. It is very bright and beautiful to look at. It didnt have any dead pixels which I was very happy to see. I have been totally happy with this monitor. Its big and great to look at. Very thin too..

This beautiful 27" monitor is a great buy. The color is absolutely stunning! I bought one for $$$ and I dont regret a single penny that i paid for it. The only problem is that it doesnt have a DVI input. It has HDMI and VGA, but that can be dealt with accordingly. If i could fit another one on my desk I would by another one, but sadly i don't :(

I got these monitors for a steal! Ended up purchasing three to what came out to about $500 or so? No tax, free shipping (took a week), no recycle fee. The monitors arrived as if they were new, no sign of being a refurb. Of the three monitors, one was damaged by UPS but Overstock customer service promptly replaced the monitor for me. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Would definitely recommend this product, and definitely from Overstock.

I'm a tech geek with bad eye site so it I like it chances are anyone will. It's just a great monitor. I had the now vintage Dell 2405 which was the best in its day. I knew it was dimming and the white were not quite white but compared to this it looks BAD. Perfect size and resolution, stop squinting and get this screen super thin and light. There is just no downside. Use the free Samsung software to adjust to your taste and your all set. Nothing more to say, its a no brainer.
