The TV for the size and price I got it for was better than I could hope since I also got great O rewards back for it, enabling me to get a good bedroom set too. I always buy Samsung products, and have owned two of their plasmas now so I figured I would like this TV and I wasn't disappointed.Read More
Already have recommended this to everyone. I am astounded by the performance and the picture every time I turn it on.Read More
I bought this TV to replace the one in my living room. It's not as good of quality as the one I had to replace, but it cost me less then half of the one I had to replace. No big deal. I knew it wasn't as nice of a TV as the one I replaced. However, I do recommend it if you're looking for a really nice, really inexpensive TV. It was easy to set up, it works great, nice picture; I have no complaints. I think the thing I notice the most is the sound quality (compared to my old TV). It's not bad, it's just something I notice right off the bat. I'll be checking Overstock for a little nicer TV for my living room and move this one to the bedroom. It's perfect for the bedroom! It's been years since I have had to replace the big ticket items at home.... now it's a ripple effect. Replacing one thing after another. Thank goodness for Overstock and their great prices and quality merchandise!Read More
As a tech ignoramus, I am not the best critic of this item. But the price was good, the size and picture are good, my movie-mad husband is happy, and the switch from our bulky old monster TV was easily arranged. Really, the only problem I can think of is getting rid of our old set. It sits inside our front door magisterially, but people avert their eyes lest they be asked to pick it up. No worries; my nephew owes me bigtime.Read More
The TV itself is great for the size. The one downside being that if you have a sunny room, there is quite a glare on the screen, but I think that goes with the territory (Plasma TVs). You will need to buy an HDMI cable to be able to plug in your Blue Ray, DVD player, etc. But setup for the TV is very easy. The one complaint I will make is that my TV arrived with the top Styrofoam broken and the back panel of the TV was dented. Since I already had the TV set up when I noticed the dent and it hadn't appeared to affect the picture quality/function, I elected not to send the TV back. But I did contact Overstock regarding the issue, which they remedied in a way I deemed appropriate: they extended my 60 day warranty to one year and refunded me $50 (just more than 10% of the cost). Given that this likely happened during transport (and was likely no fault of their own neglect), I deemed the offer fair and accepted it. They also offered to return the TV at no cost as a secondary option. Overall, the customer service experience was good and the TV works as expected. I would recommend this TV to be sure.Read More
My boyfriend and I weren't sure about whether to get a LED or LCD TV and when we started looking, they were crazy expensive. I already had a smaller plasma and i thought it was great so when we found this TV, 43'' for such a good price, we couldn't pass it up. The TV is huge and has a really clear picture. So far no defects with the product, so glad we decided to buy this!Read More

FAQs about HDTVs
High-definition televisions, commonly known as HDTVs, are quickly taking over the home entertainment world. They offer improved digital picture, sound and features over older technologies, and few manufacturers continue to produce old CRT (cathode ray tube) TVs. But high-definition TV technology comes with a lot of new terms, like "1080p" and "aspect ratio," that may be confusing. If you're looking for information to help you upgrade your television, here are some answers to frequently asked questions about high-definition television technology.
1080p-HDTVs vs 1080i-HDTVs
High-definition televisions provide a higher resolution image than standard-definition televisions. Typically, HDTVs are available in three types: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. The 720p and 1080i resolution TVs are quickly being replaced with 1080p as the industry standard, but there are still a lot of them on the market. Here are some comparison points for both 1080i and 1080p televisions to help you decide which will work best for you. What the numbers mean. In both 1080p and 1080i HDTVs, "1080" refers to the number of lines that make up an image on the screen. Each line is made up of tiny colored dots called pixels. The greater the number of lines, the better the resolution or clarity of the image. A 1080p HDTV displays 1,080 lines of pixels, whereas a regular television uses only 480 lines. Both versions of 1080i and 1080p HDTVs are superior to the 720p HDTV and to SDTV. What the letters mean. The difference between 1080i and 1080p HDTV resolution is seen in the way the lines appear on the screen. The "i" in 1080i or 720i stands for interlaced, meaning the odd-numbered lines appear on the screen followed by the even-numbered lines. The HDTV "interlaces" the lines together to produce an image. This happens faster than your eyes can detect, so you only see the full image. The "p" in 1080p or 720p stands for progressive scan, which means that lines appear sequentially on the screen. For this reason, the latter is said to have a sharper, cleaner image. Cost differences. When the technology was first released, a 1080p HDTV was significantly more expensive than 1080i HDTVs. The price of all HDTVs has dropped dramatically in recent years, however. You'll find great deals on both 1080i and 1080p HDTVs, so the price difference is negligible in most cases. Programming availability. Although 1080p picture clarity might be higher than 1080i, the resolution of the video source being used also matters. Most HDTV broadcasts go no higher than 1080i. Most video games are currently made in 720p, but a few are available in 1080p. Blu-ray players do support 1080p, and more Blu-ray discs are being made to take advantage of this capability. Some on-demand cable and satellite providers offer programming in high definition as well. The 1080p resolution and image quality are quickly being adopted by manufacturers and content providers, so look for more content for HDTVs that take full advantage of this technology.
