Great product for the money!

joevodkasauce from Monroe, CT, Dec 23, 2009

I wound up ordering this Samsung HT-BD1250T after the LG LHB953 system was out of stock. Setup was a snap, had the whole thing setup in less then an hour (with two kids running around the wires). I didn't buy the Wireless unit for the Surround speakers yet - just couldn't spend the extra $100. The system is loaded with features, no problems at all with the network setup (I use a Netgear PowerLine AV adapters instead of wireless - much more reliable). I was online streaming form Netflix in a few minutes. The quality of the video streamed isn¿t nearly HD though. Still a great add-on though. The only two complaints I have (and they¿re really not biggies) are the menu use and the iPod playlist sorting functions. Basically the menus have ever option you could need in them however to play a device like an iPod or USB media you have to have the TV turned on and navigate through a series of menus. Again, not a show stopper but my wife can¿t stand having to go through a menu just to play some music from her iPod.The second, and to me more annoying problem, is the fact that the Samsung BD player does not retain and play iPod playlists in the order you create them. The system always re-sorts the list alphabetically when it¿s playing them. This is really an issue of bad design in my mind. What¿s the point of a playlist if you can¿t play it the way you want it?I contacted Samsung tech Support about this and they replied saying that the system is performing as was designed. I can only hope a future firmware update will correct this.Overall ¿ we love this system. I haven¿t been able to ¿test¿ it since we have young kids who go to bed early but I¿ll send them to Grandma¿s house soon and try it out.

Good Product

vonk2002 from Santa Rosa, CA, Dec 9, 2009

This 'refurbished' came with 'new' speakers! The main unit had only small scratches in the plastic cover. All functions work properly. Unit arrived in only a few days - no delays at all. Sound quality is good but not audiophile - only a problem for the most sophisticated listeners. The Pandora support is great - it doesn't bug you with the normal web page 'are you listening' prompt! The value is extremely high for the price - highly recommended.

Where have you been all my life?

kdtolar Nov 7, 2009

I got this player just to have a dvd player in my bedroom. Now I find myself watching TV in my bedroom more probably wanted to.Easy set up. Speakers are not the best in the world, but better than my TV's (also a Samsung). Plenty of optical input connectors to hook up other audio sources. Built in amplifier so you can do away with the extra box.Love the streaming Netflix and Pandora. Had a handy Ethernet port so that worked out really well.Remote is a bit complex and is hard to read the buttons in low light (no real back lighting). iPod dock has been a bit flakey. When it works it's nice. Half the time it makes my iphone say "This accessory is not compatible with the iPhone".Right mix of features and works well together. All in all good value, though I'd prefer better sound and a consistent ipod dock in my living room.
