It's been about 2 years now and the system is still working like a champ.

As a VCR This is good But as dvd player This is not a good choice because it is too sensetive. so if disk has a little scratches in it, this player does not work . This player can only work dvd format.no vcd. or other formats.

We were looking for an inexpensive VCR player because ours quit working and we still have so many VHS tapes. We weren't able to find just a VCR, but this one that is a VCR and DVD player works just fine for our purposes.

And very fast, too. I bought a refurbished DVD/VCR player and it works just fine. I'm very happy with it and will use Overstock.com again.

We bought this for our son for his birthday. It arrived in great condition, but minus the remote control. That problem was resolved quickly and our son has thoroughly enjoyed his gift! I would recommend this to anyone.

I still enjoy using a VCR even in this age, call me Old School I guess. I have enjoyed this product very much. However, I can tell its a refurbished item, but the clicking and the whirring I hear when I fast forward or rewind in BOTH VCR and DVD modes. Because the price was good and I wanted to have 2 in one its not a big deal to me. I am glad I was able to purchase it for so little. However, I have to remember to ship it to my work address because FedEx and UPS ship during 9 to 5 hours.

Have grandkids that come over and spend the night and needed DVD/VCR player for them to be able to enjoy DVD and VCR movies. Was very pleased with this product. Was very easy to operate and picture was great on DVD's. Was a little static on VCR tapes but grandkids still enjoyed.

Bought this item in August of 09; 6 months later I'm looking for another dvd/vcr player because the video portion of it does not work; The audio still works though. I'll never buy another refurbished item again.

It works good.....sets up easy....but on my bigger Samsung Plasma's, it's viewing options shrink the screen any way I configure. The best part is that the viewing options work great for my kid's Samsung 23" Wide Screen 1080p LCD TV that I installed in each of their rooms with the Arrow wall mount and Link Depot 1.3 HDMI 10'...Perfect for Wide Screen LCD's.

Although my unit had a big dent on its side, it works well and is easy to use.

Overall, I give this product a low to zero satisfaction rating. There is no capability to tape one channel while watching another. Although playback on the DVD is acceptable, recording and playback on the VCR side is decidedly sub-par. The product does not come with enough cables for installation and everyday use, most significant of these is the absent HDMI cable, which can run in cost as much as the advertised product. All in all, I would suggest the purchase of a more complete and multi-functional unit.

I see these are currently out of stock so I must have got the last one. Hooked it up with a purchased HDMI instead of the RCA that came with it. Plugged it into my 55" LCD and it works just fine. Can't tell it from a new one which sells for $30 dollars more.
