This was a great deal,,I like this DVD Player,I use it as my back -up player,It plays just wonderful so if my # 1 goes down I know I will have one that is just as good waiting to take his place.On top of that the replacement warranty is good also I would recommend this to anyone.

Samsung always delivers quality products. Especially this model, P191 is one of not many DVD players in this price range that plays Divx format... I am very happy with my purchase and will recommend this dvd player. You will receive an exceptional quality product for a great price.

It came in a very good box and was easy to install. It is a beautiful player and so trouble free. One of the best buys I have made all year. Of course, I switched to Samsung products two years ago and this is the reason. Everything they sell works all the time.

Gave this as a present to my dad who doesn't even use dvds that much. He actually has ended up using it quite a bit and it works great!

I got this for my cabin in the country and have been using it once or twice a week since. It works well with the tv and stereo system I have. I'm getting a refurbished home theater system to see if I can kick it up a notch.

Very disappointed, The remote would not work unless I was close to the DVD Player. DVD's that I made did not play well on this machine(they play on other machines) They kept freezing up and I would have to start at the beginning.

I didn't even have to read the instructions, just hooked it up and it works great, my only complaint is that the front panel is hard to read from across the room

I needed a very basic DVD player to play my Netflix. When I saw the price and features of this unit I was sold. When I got the player it was okay at best. Like other purchasers I heard the grinding noises. It was also very hit or miss. It would play some DVD's and not others. There was nothing wrong with the DVD's becasue they would work just fine in other players. I eventually went to Samsung's website for answers. I found my model and downloaded the firmwear to a data disc on a cd-r. I popped it into the dvd player, hit enter on the remote and let the update load. Immediately after I did this I had zero issues and it plays all dvd's. I know I bought it refurbished, so this update should have been done before it was repackaged and sold like new again. Hope this helps! If I'd rated it right away, it would have got one star. Now that it's working after some serious trouble shooting it gets three, just because I should NOT have had to go through all this!

First I have to say that my nickname of disappointment was for a different product (and I am not able to change it for some reason). But this little DVD player is absolutely perfect. I wanted something every simple, inexpensive and easy to operate for playing DVD's for my grandson. It's so easy and fairly small that I can move it easily to a different TVs through out my house. I like it so much, I bought another one for my downstairs.

I bought this DVD player (refurbished) in May and it has been nothing but trouble. It makes really loud noises when starting up and shutting down, it also makes "grinding" type noises intermittently while playing a DVD, it takes up to 5 minutes to start a DVD, and every DVD I've played in it in the last 2 months has frozen up and I have to fast forward to the next scene just to keep watching the movie. (I know its the DVD player and not the DVD that is defective because it happens with every DVD I play.) I gave 2 stars because of the great customer service Overstock.com gave me when I reported the problem. If you get this DVD player GET THE WARRANTY. It is well worth it!

This DVD player did not work. I returned it within a day. Must have not been refurbished well, because it would only work for about a half hour and then stop and there was nothing you could do to push it forward.

Product appeared like new. Works great. No problems at all - especially for a furbished product. I would purchase again!

I wanted a simple unit that just played DVDs, I didn't need anything fancy. For the price, this is reliable, compact, and has a clear picture. My old player would not play through a movie without stopping several times. On the down side, the remote is rather small, takes some geting used to. You can adjust any DVD to widescreen but fullscreen is the default and you have to reset it to widescreen each time it goes to stop. The pause isn't very long before it goes to stop. It just takes getting used to. I am overall happy with this purchase.

Very good with one exception - many opera DVDs have a menu to select the sub-title language. To get the desired selection requires the use of the remote. The get the selection to make and retain your choices you have to stand within 3 feet of the player. Fresh batteries did not change the situation. The remote works fine for all other functions. A small inconvenience for the price of a very versatile DVD/CD player.
