This is a refurbished unit but you would never know it. It was in pristine condition. The only negatives I found are that the component audio output does not pass Dolby 5.1 surround to the receiver - you must use hdmi or optical cables for that. Also, a computer written DV-R plays in a small window surrounded by a skin. My previous, and old, Sony DVD player played the same content in full screen automatically. I have not played around with the option settings yet but the default presentation is not great for that format. In general, this is a great price and the picture in Blue Ray format as well as upconverted DVD is excellent.

I bought this BR for my brother n law as a thank you gift and he loves it! We have watched many BR movies over the past 3 months and the player works great. it was easy to hook up to his existing system and the features are also easy to figure out - no problems at all. Highly recommend this product as your first one to purchase or as a back up to one you might already own. I will be buying another soon.

Came with DVD handbook would rather have a booklet to browse through. Bought it for my husband and he was thrilled

The blue ray player is wonderful. howeveer, the remote kept shorting out my batteries an d I needed to spend almost $30 to purchase a new emote that worked. So it turned out not to be much of a bargain. But I like the player. Anybody who wants a remote that burns out batteries overnight, just holler. i'll send it with no shipping and handling charges.

remote didn't work had to buy a new one. everything else was good. could use better instructions mabe some in laymens terms.

This product was a great deal for the money. The picture is excellent and it has all the needed features for a basic blu-ray player.

I got this as a refurbished unit at a very good price, so gave it 5 stars on value. Mostly easy to operate and all the basic functions are covered. Firmware upgrade was easy with a network connection. A couple of nits: the front digital display is too dim to read from across the room and as far as I can tell the brightness is not adjustable. Optical audio output needs to be changed according to the disk's features to get surround sound. I think it would be nice to tell the unit what your audio set up is capable of and have this unit auto switch the output accordingly. However, overall the unit is a very good value.

I purchased this unit A month and a week ago, And She's solid as a ROCK! This is a very good player, I ordered from Overstock it came like in two days I was shocked! She has good features. Now I never owned a Blu Ray player B4 but the only thing i had to compare it 2 was my Toshiba HD DVD player And Scientific Atlantic HD 8300 cable Well it whips cable and basically ties w/the HD DVD player as far as pic and sound is concerned. Now this unit is not BD live ready but can be with a an firmware upgrade and Ur BD live disc won't play unless U put a flash drive in the back of the unit I stuck a cheap 8GB which was way to much memory now I have a 4GB in which is still too much. So w/the flash drive in my BD live disc worked perfectly Oh like Iron Man would not play until I put the flash Drive in But would work once I deactivated the the BD live feature, But playing Traitor would play But not the BD Live features But w/@ least 1GB flash it will be solid, U need @ least 1GB to access all features all UR disc will play w/o it, Even the Samsung BD-p2500 takes a flash drive for added storage. UR SD disc will look Great and burned DVDs will look Good. But I highly recommend this player Enjoy! PS. Since I've purchased it I purchased 12 Blu Ray titles so yes I do work her out!

This blu ray played well without any problems or issues. Nothing difficult or complicated and keeps performing well. Glad I got it. Thinking about getting another one for my other tv.

I found this unit easy to use with nice playback. The best part is the player is like brand new but with a great price.

This player works incredible with my HD tv, the picture is absolutely stunning. Make sure you get a HDMI cable for it. The player was shipped very promptly. Getting used to some of the controls is a bit of a learning curve, but i suppose i could read the manual....

This is a good Blu-Ray player with a great picture. I updated the firmware and have had no trouble playing movies. Well worth the money.
