SVP FS1880 Black 35mm Negative Film/ Slide Scanner

After receiving my order, which didn't take long, I followed all the instructions to set it up on my computer. It was very easy. However, as I started to actually use it, I found that I had to manually twist a knob to move the film through the scanner. There was no automation like I had first thought seeing a "Scan" button on the item. So you manually move the film and then press the scan button to scan one photo. It's a very slow process. But that's not the worst of it. The scans were way too bright and making them a bit darker didn't help. The photos lost a lot of color from what my original prints looked like. I even tried seeing if I could fix them in Photoshop and that didn't help at all. There were a few photos that seemed to scan ok, but for the most part, they were all too bright and lacking significant color. They also appeared grainy and looked like they had fibers and dust on them even though I wiped the film with a lense cloth to make sure dust, fibers and fingerprints were gone. Another issue was the film would get stuck as I rolled it through the scanner, not wanting to go into the exit slit, so I had to use this film retrieval tool to guide the film into the slit. Easy enough but just made the process take longer. Then as I got to the end of a strip, the film could not be moved with the knob any longer and had to be manually pulled to get the last photo on the strip. I had to be careful not to pull too fast because if I did, the last photo would be too far over and I couldn't push it back in making it so I had to feed the entire strip back through just to get the last photo on the strip. Do not waste your money on this product unless you want to waste your time too and end up with terrible looking scans.
