You cannot get a better deal on speakers! I ordered a pair to go along with two other SDAT floor speakers I have and I am really satified. I power the speakers with a Pioneer A717 Reference Stereo Amp and I'm sure I could blow them up at full power but I get little distortion at 3/4 full power. About all my ears can handle anyway. Buy with confidence you will be satisfied.
I love these speakers. The lower bass is a little odd sounding but otherwise it hits HARD. I bought these along with the 400 watt hifi SDATS for 4 speakers total with a 2k watt amp and play it for my frat parties. It is a huge hit and the price cannot seriously be beat. I can see that a discerning audiophile would not like these but for the rest of the 95% of the population who cant tell or who prefer power over miniscule details, these are for you. I am considering buying another two and a sub for MEGA POWER BASS DELICIOUSNESS!

I noticed one person above stated that his system shut off at full volume. The reason for this, chuck, is your amplifier doesn't put out enough power for them and it shuts itself down.Anyhow, I have a pair of these and a pair of the 404s for a couple of rooms in my house. They were both pretty cheap. Both SDATs are pretty good speakers for the price. They aren't exactly a klipsch or something like that, however if you don't have the 2000$+ to spend on a system I'd highly recommend SDAT, the sound will rock anything else in its price range.

I don't know why everyone bad mouths SDAT. For the money, they can't be beat. If you have enough power to push these 50 pound monsters, and you equalize out their short comings, they are absolutely fabulous. Base is generally pretty good, but if you like more, punch up your 45-120 Hz frequencies on your equalizer. BOOM! Great bass. Same for the highs. Place the speakers in the corners of the room facing outward for correct dispersion and you have a cost-effective system for listening to music. I found them to be an excellent value proposition. If you are an audiophile, pardon my French. Buy a set to put outside on the patio of your veranda while you sip a fine cabernet and watch the sun set. For me, they are great inside speakers that fill the room with quality sound even if equalized flat, but great if you punch up the frequencies you want to here at a higher db level.

The speakers sound great and demand a lot of power but however if you are a bass freak like me you will still need a sub woofer of greater magnitude but the speakers are great
