This subwoofer is junk. It only worked for about 1 week, now the red indicator light just flashes. No product support is available from the manufacturer. I would not recommend buying this item.

As it was mentioned by an earlier reviewer, this subwoofer emits a very audible hum when turned on. To make matters worse, it does not have the auto on / standby feature, so you have to turn it manually on and off with the switch on the back unless you like to hear it humming away when not in use. Plain annoying. It would be a good deal if not for this significant flaw. Don't know how the sound quality is, because due to the humming, I didn't even try it but put back into the box and returned it.

The quality is good for the price,and it was easy to install. The volume knob is hard to get to on the back and would be better situated in the front of the unit. The ordering process (gift cards from Harris Polls Hi-points) was cumbersome, but other than that, I'm satisfied.

I originally discovered Overstock.com when I decided to buy floor speakers for my home entertainment. Now, after two years, I have come back to Overstock.com and bought a wonderful new Subwoofer. This Subwoofer is certainly worth the money I paid for it. It has a solid bass beat and matches my current front speakers. I believe that if you are new to home entertainment and are not wanting to risk too much money for a solid subwoofer than I highly recommend this. You will be glad you did. Just don't expect the manual to be too informative. Of course, if you are familiar with speaker setup than this should be a walk in the park for any potential buyer.

let me start off by saying that before i bought this sub woofer, i had already owned and was very pleased with other products from sdat. and i would recomend them to my friends and family. now for the subwoofer. overall i am pleased with the sound quality of this thing. it is not real boomy, it blends really well with the rest of my home theater. if you want the biggest bang for your buck or if you enjoy boomy overwhelming bass this is not the sub for you. the day i got it i had to re-mount the woofer. every screw was stripped out.( i was expecting something like this as i have a few of sdat's products and the build quality is not good at all. the sound quality and very very cheap price are the reasons i will continue to buy their products). now for the reason i would not recomend this sub to anyone. the built in amp is not grounded( only 2 prongs on the power wire) when it is not in use i have to turn it off manually with the switch on the back, or else listen to a constant hummm comming from the woofer. for the price i paid for it i will deal with this inconvience but to all of you out there looking for a good cheap sub, i am sorry this one is probably not it. i would recomend going to partsexpress.com and taking a look at the dayton powered subs. they can get pricey but from what i hear they are worth every penny. so all in all i am happy with the sound quality of this sub. but i am displeased with the build quality. good luck!!

Sure, the instructions included in the box have nothing to do with the actual subwoofer, other than the picture. But who cares? A monkey can figure out this hookup in about 30 seconds. It's nice to both a high level and line in inputs. So when my antique Sony receiver gives out, I can go to line level for the sub. It made a huge difference in the sound of my system, which was using bass-less Bose speakers. If you can connect a stereo, you can connect this sub. It's that simple.

The unit works fine. However, when it arrived, the speaker was loose because the screws had all worked out. I was able to re-attach the speaker. Not very good quality control.

I got this sub to compliment my basic home theatre until I can up grade. The sound is OK but I've heard a lot better from a 8" sub but for the price I doubt you will find anything better. There were no instructions but you really don't need them unless you have never used anything electronic in your life. Just good basic sub

Really like the subwoofer. But no manual? and no way to conact SDAT other than a generic website. No response to email via the website for a PDF of the manual I have other SDAT products, but if I ever need warranty service, i might be hard pressed to contact them. In short.. good speakers (I have six, all great prices from overstock) but questionable support if needed.

This sub woofer compleats the LEB sets, tho it pushes 88dbs, the set as a whole sound fantastic. I had it for over a 2 months now with no problems. The sets make fore quality 5.1 speakers, only complaint is I need another 405 set use it to compleat my 6.1 setup. The sub is easy to connect. No complaints about the product. I would recommend this item.

I have had the sdat 8 " sub woofer for over a month. It works well. Easy to set up. No complaints. I would recommend this item. Cheap sub.

Very nice quality. One suggestion: installation information would have been helpful. Couldn't even find any on the product's website. Other than that, everything okay!

.It all comes down to the sound. Get the most Bang for your Buck. Sound Quality and control is Great. If you leave unit on after you shut down you will hear hum unlike other units that have auto shut off and on. It is only minimal so I leave it on all the time being switch is on rear of speaker. I don't feel any heat build up having it on 24 7. Wood Cabinet looks very well constructed and a refreshing site after seeing so many higher priced sub woofers in Plastic cabinets.

Got this and added it with my new SDAT speakers (also purchased here) and hooked up to my new 7.1 Onkyo surround receiver, the sound is great, especially when your watching movies such as Independence Day, Jurassic Park, X-Men etc.... brings a whole new level to the bass and boom!! Package came in good order with no problems. I would recommend this Sub, great value for the price, you won't be dissapointed.

This is a great product for the price.The sound is outstanding.You can't beat this ,especially if you are on a budget.

its not the best quality sound but if your looking for a good quality subwoofer its worth the money
