handy converter
works great and very easy to use. Even comes with instructions if you're unfamiliar with the connections. Everything you need to plug up an internal laptop hard drive or internal desktop hard drive to any computer that supports a usb cable. Works with cd rom/dvd rom too. Great tech tool to have on hand. Only thing is the adapter gets warm quick. Hasn't melted or damaged anything so not a problem. received 4 days after ordering. Money well spent.

Good adapter kit at a cheap price
I was impressed and happy this kit worked. I read some scary stories on Amazon about a similar kit actually frying the hard drive due to a defective AC adapter or the adpater smoking. This one ran fine, and detected the drive (PATA) w/o problems. Make sure you fully plug the drive into the adapter, it didnt detect it at first until I pushed it in firmly. The adapter itself gets pretty warm (hotter than the AC brick). I haven't tried the SATA connection yet.
