I wanted to offer a different take on a slew of "this thing rocks!!!" ratings all over web. Such overwhelmingly positive reviews made me think I'm getting a "real" amp. Well, not so in my opinion. This thing does what it's supposed to do, that much is true. But don't expect miracles. You can definitely hear deficiency of wooden cabinet here. I compared it to Micro Cube side by side and I thought Micro Cube sounded way better. Micro Cube indeed sounded like a "real" amp, very warm. Mobile Cube on the other hand...it's hard to describe the sound I heard but best I can say is placticky. This was on a clean JC setting which is all I got this thing for, and it's stereo input. So it's a good product for it's intended purpose, versatile, light and ultra portable with plenty of practical usable features but I didn't get the sound I was hoping for (I wish it sounds as nice as Micro Cube). And my choice of "wouldn't recommend this to a friend" doesn't mean that I think Mobile Cube sucks, you just have to buy with a little grain of salt.

Great place to shop, not only did I find what I was looking for in stock, it was at the lowest price anywhere as well. I paid $15 (8 lb package) extra for expedited shipping and got my new product in two days. Even with the extra shipping charge it was still cheaper than any other online site bar none. The product arrived as described and packed very well. I love it!

    • Roland Mobile Cube

I had been shopping for a Roland Mobile Cube for some time, but couldn't find a good deal. I found it at "Overstock" for the best price yet and shipping was very reasonable! It arrived quickly, as advertised, new and in the box. I am very pleased!

I am a giging guitarist that has been playing 35 + years. I love this amp!!! The sound is fantastic. The clean channel sounds just like the Roland JC 120 and the distorted channel ROCKS!!! You can't go wrong with this amp. I only wish they added a foot switch for the clean/distortion channel, one for the chorus and one for the reverb/delay. Then this amp would be perfection...

    • Roland Mobile Cube

I use this at work because wearing ear plugs would be a safety hazard. I plug an MP3 player into it because radio reception is not good in a metal building. I use rechargeable batteries and at a low to moderate volume (this thing can get loud) I can get 2 to 3 work days in between charges. Overstock had the best price at the time I was ready to buy. It was worth it. It may not get any cheaper unless Roland foolishly decides to discontinue it. I had to fabricate a cable to use the 1/4" inputs because the RCA inputs have no volume control to them. You are expected to use the volume control on the MP3 device. This gives me control over volume, tone, reverb/delay as well as a couple other "effects" that the cube offers. You are encouraged to use Roland's AC to DC converter as the cube does not indicate what the input voltage is or what the polarity of the input connection is. May get another cube for our church to use as a powered stage near field monitor / portable PA system for public evangelistic events.
