This 85MAF-N lens includes a lens hood to protect the delicate camera lens from the sun's rays, block glare and prevent scratching. Manual focus gives you greater control over the images you shoot, and the minimum focusing distance makes it possible to take clear pictures from up close or far away.

  • You should have this lens

    I've shot with an older version of the Nikon 85/1.4 from rentglass.com (use them if you ever have a chance) and did not feel like I had to run out and buy for >$1000, but was still interested in rounding out my range of fixed focal length lenses. Ran across the Rokinon while searching for other options. Thought long and hard about it, but pulled the trigger for the "chip" version, which adds metering for my D7000. Manual focus is not an issue for me. I'd take AF for sure, but at this price point, can't be beat the quality. Hefty build. I like the focus ring action. Agree with other reviewers that the hood and cap don't play very well together, but I can still place the lens cap with the hood on with a little extra effort. I would not hesitate to recommend this lens to anyone comfortable with manual focus.
