  • A wide angle Gem

    shooting this on a 5D mark II, the sharpness and microcontrast is amazing wide open. Much better in the corners than canon 16-35 (mark I or Mark II), as well as sigma 12-24. Flare is well controlled, and CA is nearly non existent. I bought a focus confirm chip off of ebay for 14 dollars, which allows focus confirmation, and includes exif info in the shot. The sole weakness of lens is hefty barrel distortion, and some mustache distortion, which is well corrected by ptlens, as well as a profile floating around for ACR. Just an unbelievable lens, at a bargain price. I would have happily paid 1000 for this lens.
