it sounded like a great product. I should have listened to the person who said that it wasn't easy to operate. It took me a while to understand even with instructions. My biggest gripe is that I have trouble setting the radio to the station I want to listen to. You have to find it blindly. I found it once and never again. The light on the front is annoying to me at night and makes it more difficult to see the time without my glasses. I don't have trouble seeing the time on other radios that don't have the light.

I've had this for several weeks. My last alarm/radio/cd/dual alarm clock was also from Sony. This is not all that easy. It has a rotating dial in the back for volume and radio stations. You can't tell what radio station is on. The alarm clock setting is not that easty. My last one was was easy, you could set it in the dark. this one no. For radio and alarm, it gives modes 1 and 2. You need to figure out the modes by looking at the instructions manual. Also, it is quite east when you put it on snooze, that the CD door opens and there goes your "snoozing" When this happens you're alarm will not go off again. I also think the cd changer should be on top rather on the front. i wold not buy this one again.

The light on the front of the clock is too bright in either the blue or red colors that are available. I have to cover them at night because it emits too much light when you want to get to sleep.

Although I rated the unit average, it works for what I need in my son's nursery -- especially for the price. The light blue display works perfectly with the decor in the nursery. The buttons on the machine can be confusing and doesn't seem intuitive to set the alarm clock. However, I just need to play a soothing CD to help him fall asleep. I tap one button and that's it. At first I let the other reviews prevent me from buying the unit sooner. I regret doing that because it has been a good CD player so far and we have enjoyed it in his room. The display is bright and assists us as a night light. So I would consider this when considering buying the cd/radio player.

We got this for a 7 year old and its taken 2 adults to figure it out. There are too many options and takes way too much time to program. We just wanted something she could pop in a CD or set to wake up in the morning. The value is great but I would have paid more for something that was easier to us.

My 8 year old daughter completely loves this clock! I was worried because some other reviews were not so good, but we simply made sure we read the manual and it worked perfectly. Yes, you do have to disable the alarm as it comes pre-set, but the directions easily show how to do this. It is simple to use and was a great value. Thanks to the battery back-up, we can move it from room to room without having to reset the clock each time. Love it!

Took a bit to figure out how to operate -- had to ask my teenage son as he uses alot of electronic stuff. The biggest drawback was figuring out how to turn off alarm when we get up before the alarm time; solved that by leaving the setting dial on the alarm mode, then click signal type button to no display. The shape/design is somewhat bulky, the numbers on the display is hard to read unless looking straight-on (mine sits on an upper shelf of the headboard), and the light is very bright (even on dim settings). However, as the husband travels frequently, music helps me to sleep and radio stations are extrememly difficult to pick up at our house, so I've nagged for an alarm/CD for the past two years. This model does satisfy that niche, and since I do not expect it to have high quality sound/features, it serves it intended purpose.

I bought this clock radio as a way to listen to FM radio while I worked. I could only get one or two channels to tune in, but not the ones I wanted because there is no external antenna. I tried to change some of the settings (background color) as it explains in the instructions, but I just got a clock face that constantly changes color. You get what you pay for - it was cheap, but it doesn't work very well. It looks very chintzy also. I wouldn't recommend this unless you don't need a good quality radio.

This is a pretty heavy alarm clock, so don't drop it like I did. It fell hard on the wood part of my bed to the floor and the cd holder was like broken my dad managed somehow to crunch it back in place but now it cant play cds, though it does play the radio and alarm. So the lesson to this is make sure you dont drop it! Its heavy.When it did play cds it tended to skip a lot, something i that annoyed the h out of me bc my boombox doesnt skip at all, unless the surface its on is disrupted liek someone jumping or something.It was also annoying to figure out how to use the controls. Theres a little wheel thing and you set it to each setting thing, like "clock" or "color change". I didnt know that at first and was trying to press the buttons on the wrong station so I was really annoyed when it wasnt doing the proper thing. So put aside time to read every line of the manual..Overall...Im annoyed bc its durablity could have been increased if they had figured out how to make the alarm lighter. Also the cd skipping was very dissapointing, bc the reason I bought this alarm was that it would have the 2 functions of an alarm and cd player..:(

This is exactly what I was looking for! Easy to use, tells time, good radio and the CD player is good too! The CD player can make noise at times but other than that, it's great!

I've only had this clock for a couple of weeks, but so far I love it. It takes a few to figure out all the settings, but once you do, it's a great clock.

This product is really attractive, small & compact. I like that you can choose the color of the display but it's a bit too bright. I had it in my son's nursery and it seemed to keep him up if he woke up in the middle of the night, but there is a low brightness setting that helps. Radio works well. I am not using it as an alarm clock but can see how that could be a pain. The dial on the top would be hard to deal with in the dark and buttons hard to distinguish when half asleep.It also seems to be very sensitive when playing CDs. Skips more than other players I've had. Overall CD function seems flimsy. Also, can anyone tell me how to get the display back to color-changing (when it flips thru all the different colors on it's own)? When I first plugged it in it color-changed but then I selected one solid color and now can't get it back to color-changing. The manual doesn't explain how to change this.

This clock/cd player/radio/night light is fantastic! My son loves it. It works great and the changing colors are fun. Also, the sound quality is really good.

I was looking for a small CD player for my 4 month old son's nursery, this is the perfect size and the fact that it is also a clock is a bonus. I settled on this one because of one of the other reviews that said it also made a good night light which it does. It plays well and sounds good, overall I am happy with it.

This is a great little radio/CD player for a great price. I purchased it for a family member who is hospitalized, thinking it would provide a little entertainment for little money. The sound is super - much better than I ever anticipated. Thanks, Overstock!

The look of the clock is pretty cool. Being able to change the display color is not to bad either. The only real issue I had, was figuring out how to shut off the alarm without it coming back on. The alarm clock has 2 alarm settings. It even allows you to choose a different color to wake up too, yet I still have not figured out what button will shut the alarm off until the next day.

This is a terrific little radio for the price! It came with two alarms already set so I had to figure out how to disarm them which required reading the directions, but other than that it's been great! The radio reception is surprisingly good and the audio quality is better than I expected for the size and cost. I bought one for my daughter's bathroom and am going to by another one for mine... it's nice to have a clock and tunes while getting ready for work in the morning or relaxing in the tub.

cute, compact cd alarm clock. however, a bid difficult and confusing to use. sound quality so so....better to spend a bid more for easier to maneuver product.
