We got this projector to show movies outside on our barn. This has been a huge hit with our kids, their friends and our neighbors. The projector is really simple to operate. It doesn't really have "features," but that is a good thing. It doesn't have a built in DVD reader (to me this means one less part of it that can break), so you connect it to a stand-alone DVD player, or to your computer. The picture quality is good. It is bright enough to start the movie at dusk -- doesn't have to be fully dark out. The picture size and focus are easy to adjust. The projector has a built in speaker, which is pretty good for indoors, but not really enough for outdoor use -- it was easy to add on our old stereo speakers. Simple, fun. Much cheaper than a huge flat screen TV, so consider this for watching movies in your living room, too.
