My old 478 died so I need a replacement for my Media box. I wasn't ready to to fully upgrade to the HD experience just yet so I went with upgrading the 478 mobo to save on cash. This chip did everything I expected. Jumped up in power from a 2.5 celeron, which could just barely handle Netflix vids (skipping video quality).
The 2.8 P4 gave new life to my dying media box, and if I parallel it with an older, but higher end, AGP video card I can watch Hulu+ and Netflix without concern much better than my dead 2.5 celeron.
4 stars simply because of the age and because I know the chip can't handle HD streaming from Netflix. If you are looking to update an old PC for simple tasks, this does the job. Avoid if you are hoping to support HD quality. I knew this going in that the P4 is not optimized to handle HD movies even with a mid grade AGP card. Overclocking my produce better HD results but I've never risked overclocking an Intel P4 chip.
