This is a very good printer. The only problem I have found is that the black ink runs out relatively quick. I had to order a new cartridge within the month I recieved the printer. I do NOT do a lot of copying. The printer is worth the price because it really delivers great copies. Ink cartridges do not cost as much as other printer ink refill cartridges I have owned. It is not a scanner. If you want to scan pictures to your computer, forget it. I purchased the Epson scanner for that. Together they are just wonderful.

I wanted a scanner that could scan several photos at a time as separate files. My previous scanner required resizing and saving each photo separately. This scanner makes the job infinitely easier with excellent quality. I am still learning the software that came with the scanner, so I can't comment on that. I would highly recommend this product.

I've had photos from my epson printers for years...they never fade like others. Great investment and a great deal

This Scanner is great! I am having so much fun scanning photos and documents. It is very easy to setup and operate. I have old black and white pictures of my mother and father and it's the only copy left. Well now thanks to VividScan, I am able to save copies of these photos on my SD card and view or print them online. Also, I received a 4GB SD card with my scanner. This is a great buy, thank you Overstock,

I purchased this scanner because I have thousands of old photos from many generations that I wanted to be able to share with relatives. The scanner produces high quality, crisp images notated the age of the original photo. I think the setup was pretty simple too. Seeing the I Images appear on my screen was exactly what I needed.

I purchased the HP G4050 scanjet photo scanner on 11-07-07 from Overstock.com and after using it for a couple of weeks I'm now ready to give a review on it. 1. I contacted Overstock via Live Chat to see if the scanner is compatible with Windows Vista and they told me no. I saw some place via the internet that it is compatible so I shopped for a scanner on HP's website and saw that the G4050 is Vista compatible so I went ahead and ordered it. 2. The installation was so simple and it installed on Windows Vista perfectly. 3. I had an old photo album of my Mother-In-Law's and didn't want to destroy the page with 6 pictures to the page on it but then discovered the scanner separates the pictures for you so you can work with each picture individually without cropping them. The scanner is noisy like all the other scanners I have owned but that is the only drawback I see. 4. Remember to turn the scanner off after your through scanning. Over all this is a great scanner with features on it, for example, it has a PDF button which I like plus the buttons are on the top of the lid for easy access. You won't go wrong purchasing this scanner.

Very happy with this scanner. So far have scanned documents, photos, and a few negatives. Have yet to dive in and scan slides, but I expect it to perform sufficiently based on results so far. Thanks Overstock for offering this item and for its quick arrival.

I found the scanner easy to use and I am certainly no expert. I needed it to scan high def scans of old family photos and slides for use in reprinting. It has software that enables to you correct flaws in the photos or slides and they translate very well into good quality prints. It was not inexpensive, over $$$ but I feel it was worth the amount to get the scans that I need and will be needing for my work. I have had the scanner a few months now and have used it quite a bit and am still very happy with the results.

I had a little trouble at first but it was my mistake and not the scanner. I love it. Have scanned many items. The quality of the pictures are great. Would highly recommend this scanner

I purchased this scanner in an emergency. I needed to scan dozens of photos quickly. I knew Epson was known for good scanners and quickly decided on the "middle of the road" scanner. I couldn't be happier. The scanner arrived within days. Setup was extremely easy. Unpack, plug in, install software and go. Within minutes I had scanned my first photo. A little reading was all that was needed to figure out the buttons. Then I was able to scan with a push of the button. Copying was just as easy although I probably won't use this function since I have a copier. Producing PDF files was also easy - something I'm going to find very valuable. I also experimented with the settings and was able to scan some rather old photos and produce very professional results. I'm extremely please with this purchase. The product also came with some Adobe Photoshop which I still need to install.

was excited to receive scanner but the instructions are terrible. after figuring it out still couldn't get it to scan satisfactorily. most times the scan would skid causing the picture to skew. after doing it many many times could not get a consistent picture.

I used this for scanning in pictures and also to scan from negatives. Top resolution for scanned pix was 1200 dpi. GO right to the "Scanning Driver" in the Canon Navigator and to the Advanced tab. This has a preview button which is great for making sure you have the negative framed correctly in the film holder. That plastic sanp-in place is a little klunky, but the scanned jpeg at 1200 dpi is worth it. I imported this into my favorite photo app for cropping., contrast adjustment, etc. I did _not_ use the included 3rd party software or Canon Navigator for any cropping , etc. I referred to the quick start guide at first to get to the driver screen and also to set up the scanning of the negatives. I was happy with the scanned image -- did not try any of the "copy" , "pdf' or "email" features. i only wanted a scanner.

I have used this for two sided printing for several years. Photos look good especially if you like a softer look. Nice heavy paper is good for making calendars because holes can be punched and the paper is strong enough to support hanging. Wish Epson made this in double sided glossy. Free shipping makes price very good.

We were looking for an Epson V700 to scan x-ray images into our dental software program. This scanner fits the bill perfectly. Images are clear, it is extremely easy to use, and the scanner fits the decor of our office. We have not used the scanner for photos or documents, but I would expect it would excel at those as well. Amazon had the same scanner with free shipping - but it was out of stock. Luckily I found Overstock also had the item - in stock, ready to ship, excellent pricing, amazing $2.95 shipping fee & quick shipping. We are thoroughly pleased with this purchase and will look to Overstock in the future for our office needs.

I am on a MacBook Pro using OS 10.6.2 Snow Leopard. I purchased this scanner on Overstock in Mar 2010. It was incredibly easy to set up and to use. Here's what I did: Plugged in the scanner using the provided USB cable; Put a picture on the scanner; Launched Image Capture, the scanning software included w Snow Leopard; Clicked Scan in Image Capture. Note that I did not install or attempt to install the Canon software provided in the box. The image scanned just fine and dropped right into my Pictures folder (you also have the option of dropping it into iPhoto, Mail, etc.) This is an excellent, small, low-volume scanner for use with a Mac.

I was looking for a wireless laser printer with a reasonable price. I saw this one on Overstock and took a chance on ordering it. It arrived within a week. The setup instructions were very clear and included pictures (always a plus for me). The printer works very well and I am looking forward to not having to struggle with printer ink clogging up my inkjet. That printer is now in the trash.

Scanner arrived very shortly after placing order. Excellent scanner with tremendous ease of use. Excellent value for price paid. Very satified with both HP and Overstock.com.

This printer is complicated to get going and most people would not be happy with it

So far I love this scanner! It stays in "getting ready to scan" mode a little long, but does a beautiful job - even with 3-dimensional objects.
