This product appears to be very well made. I needed something for appliances rather than PC or other, sensitive types of electronics. This surge protector does not automatically turn off as some do when being used with equipment other than appliances. I am using this with my refrigerator and a counter-top microwave-convection oven I had to purchase since Xcel Energy has so many numerous types of power outages during the week. My current microwave-convection over is all but dead, even having used a single unit surge protector. One reason I am writing the review a bit prematurely is because of the "packaging" this product came in. It was sent out of Salt Lake City in a thin cardboard paper that was sealed around the box the surge protector came in. Needless to say, the "carton" was a bit mutilated and the box for the surge protector was a bit smashed. Belkin makes top-notch products, and this one did not disappoint. It has a clean, sleek, customer-centric design. I bought for my mother who has lots of older devices so she needs lots of outlets. It uncluttered her area. The construction is moderate quality, but I'd buy again and for my household. I wish surge protector makers would design the socket outlets a litter farther apart so the bigger plugs won't cover the side sockets for other devices. Because the space is so tight, you rarely can use all sockets. My advice is to get a size larger than you need. So if you're looking at an 8-socket, get a 10- to 12-socket device to cover your bases.
Terrifically designed for function intended. Sturdy and efficient in structure and layout. Holds many plugs and even the larger transformer ended plugs in multiples without wasted spaces. It's strength for protection has not yet been tested...hope it never has to be. If so, it appears to have the capability to perform well.
This is a great item. I really like the power saver feature.
