The dvd player arrived in 3 days, in a large brown shipping box marked Philips. I saw no signs that the unit had been used, only a few fingerprints. The /37B designation on the label meant refurb. All hacks for a retail /37 player will work. Once installed, I could see that the picture was sharper and the fast-forward faster, than my non-refurbished player. Tweaked, would describe the performance. (I did have to wisk away the dust in the tray with a 1.5 inch camel-hair paint brush before loading a DVD)......There are many features to be found in the menu. You can adjust the volume, add sound effect, set picture levels, and more. I tested fast-forward, Zoom (aspect ratio), and USB, everything was perfect. There are many aspect ratios available in Zoom, several for making the picture smaller. The only drawback I found, is that the first zoom enlarges the picture too much. The remote has a USB button, and it's the same remote as with a retail box unit and it could be a little larger. You will need to purchase 2 aaa batteries. ALL paperwork and a large manual is included. However, navigating the menu is not difficult. Up, Down, Left to Right, and Okay, is enough. There will be no holding down a second button to access a feature......Recalling that the bubble wrap had a pink USA electronic company inspection tag (including employee number & initials), I dropped the idea of moving to a digital set with HDMI cable for further testing. Get one now from the current lot, buy the 2 year insurance plan, and you can't go wrong !

It took two days to arrive. This DVD player speaks for itself. Gives movie a whole new look. Quality is just excellent. I agree will one of the viewer when they stated that when you turn the DVD player on, it actually turns on the Television set without having any contact with my Directv converter box. This is GREAT. I also checked with Directv of a 1080p converter box to get more HD and was advised that they didn't make the converter box yet for the 1080p High Def and suggested I purchase a 1080p HD DVD player and get the same effect. This is very much true. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.

its a great player... plays file from avi player but the only thing that i don't like is the remote control. It does not have a USB button which mentioned in the manual but not available in the remote..

To be honest, i think i forgot how a working dvd player actually runs. i have had my last one for years and im just happy to have something that reads the disk every time and doesnt need to be blown out every time because of dust. its a good dvd player and i love the fact that you can play the movie and skip forward and backward on the dvd player itself. its not something you NEED a remote for.

I bought this DVD player 11 months ago. It worked well until about a month ago when it started showing "disk not found" about 80% of the time. So be sure to buy the warranty Overstock offers if you buy this product. Overstock is in the process of replacing it.

This product is great it plays videos from USB which is exactly what I needed.

The dvd player worked great. Worth the money we paid. It can directly play avi files, although it may not play smoothly.

This DVD player played one movie very well and then died on me. I am returning it. It seems to be poorly made. Do yourself a favor and invest in a Bluray player from Samsung. They are awesome.

I was looking for a dvd player for the bedroom tv. Becasue it would only be used occasionally , i didn't want to spend a lot. This item filled all the requirements. Amazing picture quality at an unbelievable price and best of all the remote is easy to use. I would definitely recommend this product.

Worked Great for about 6 months then the video output died. I would not buy this, or recommend it to anyone, better to spend money for a new one with at least a year warranty.

Has a ton of connectivity potential, the USB port is incredibly convenient. Great product for the price.

I bought this mainly becuase of mutilnational features and USB port. It works with all my India's CDs and DVDs, even personaly recorded videos. USB is great, all my AVI moveis play lick champ. Great Production. Does not look like Refurbished

Very good dvd player, a little noisy when loading disks, but other than that its a great buy, am going to buy another one for the bedroom. usb and avi all play flawlessly . The remote is a little cheap and flimsy , but works well.would have given it 5 stars were it not for that.

Excellent unit with use of HDMI cable and HDTV. Only better picture would have to be Blue-Ray.
