I was looking for an economical way to buy a trusted brand name, so I thought refurbished was the way to go. I had this DVD player all of one week when it froze. I turned it off and back on, and it worked again, but now it has a little glitch. Every time I hit the play button (from the menu screen) it stops, and I have to hit play a second time for it to actually play the disc. I would have returned it right away if my toddlers had not sent the remote control on a trip out of town in their grandmother's purse. When THAT happened I realized if you ever misplace the remote the player is useless because it does not have forward/backward buttons on it, just play (pause) stop and open. Soooo, froze a week after purchase, works with a glitch since then, and it's useless without the remote control.
