Customer Reviews
This is a refurbished product, and it shows. Mine had problems right out of the box - when inserting a DVD, the disc would pop up out of the tray and end up half out of the player with the tray closed. I was able to correct this, but then it began to take literally minutes to load or eject a disc. I had to unplug it at one point as it completely froze. This also subsided only to be replaced with an RGB balance issue - a powerful red overlay to all displays. The product does not include batteries for the remote. It upscales, but comes with composite cables only. Understandable but speaks to the overall quality. When operational, it does not impress. The upscaling is poor, the features are limited, and the audio mixing options seem clumsy. It does not even have an option to display the time.We purchased this to replace a DVD/VHS recorder that did not upscale. However, we had so many problems with this that I was forced to use our Xbox 360 to finish watching a movie - and the upscale quality on the Xbox is clearly superior. Not recommended - if you really need an upscaling player, wait for a sale on a more modern and brand-new product.
