MULTI-REGION

Great Value
I was looking for a multi region DVD player to play some PAL DVD's we got overseas. I thought I would have to spend more to get a decent unit. When I found this item, I thought it was worth a shot for the price. So far, I've been very impressed with the unit. First off, it is sleek and looks very nice. Second, it plays anything I have thrown into it (PAL, NTSC, CD, DVD -R). My only complaint is that the remote is very simplistic. For example, I can't fast forward. My only option is to go to the next chapter of the DVD. Otherwise, the unit works great and is a great value.

Brilliant Purchase
For the money, a grand buy. Plays ALL zones without any problems, a snap to set up and truly better than the other way more expensive brands. Extremely sleek looking - another great OS purchase!

Older refurbished DVD
This was a refurbished Phillips DVD player. I knew it was a refurbished DVD player and I'm ok with buying refurbished. The DVD didn't come in it's orginal packaging. It was wrapped in plastic. The DVD looks like an older model. The buttons on the machine are small and hard to press sometimes. It also takes a while to load up and move from chapter to chapter. It works, but I'm not sure how long it will last.

Multi Region DVD Player
This DVD player did, in fact, work with foreign DVDs. However, two weeks after receiving it, the door no longer opens. I need to return this item. Please tell me how to proceed. Thank you.

You can't have enough of a good thing!
I have purchased (get ready now) SEVEN of this DVP3140 because it is a terrific dvd player. I have had two of them that the dvd would not come out and I don't know why but I am very careful to place the disk in realllllllly carefully. I keep buying this model because overall it because it is easy (I have 7 remotes scattered around the bedroom so I can pause where I stand! On another review it was mentioned you couldn't fast forward--you certainly can and it can pause, go back and whatever else you need. I keep buying this DVD because I don't have to learn yet another remote and I use it many many many hours a day and night. Some of the DVDs are refurbished and one of those lasted for over a year with continual viewing--gave it a workout. I'm going to buy another......all in all it is worth it and the price is right!!

No international DVDS
This player does not play international DVDs. It gives an error "wrong region" message. If you just want a normal DVD player this is fine, but do not expect to watch and foreign movies on it.
