WILL PLAY EVERYTHING YOU CAN RECORD,PAL AND NTSC. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR?

I was looking for a multi region DVD player to play some PAL DVD's we got overseas. I thought I would have to spend more to get a decent unit. When I found this item, I thought it was worth a shot for the price. So far, I've been very impressed with the unit. First off, it is sleek and looks very nice. Second, it plays anything I have thrown into it (PAL, NTSC, CD, DVD -R). My only complaint is that the remote is very simplistic. For example, I can't fast forward. My only option is to go to the next chapter of the DVD. Otherwise, the unit works great and is a great value.

For the money, a grand buy. Plays ALL zones without any problems, a snap to set up and truly better than the other way more expensive brands. Extremely sleek looking - another great OS purchase!

This was a refurbished Phillips DVD player. I knew it was a refurbished DVD player and I'm ok with buying refurbished. The DVD didn't come in it's orginal packaging. It was wrapped in plastic. The DVD looks like an older model. The buttons on the machine are small and hard to press sometimes. It also takes a while to load up and move from chapter to chapter. It works, but I'm not sure how long it will last.

This DVD player did, in fact, work with foreign DVDs. However, two weeks after receiving it, the door no longer opens. I need to return this item. Please tell me how to proceed. Thank you.

I have purchased (get ready now) SEVEN of this DVP3140 because it is a terrific dvd player. I have had two of them that the dvd would not come out and I don't know why but I am very careful to place the disk in realllllllly carefully. I keep buying this model because overall it because it is easy (I have 7 remotes scattered around the bedroom so I can pause where I stand! On another review it was mentioned you couldn't fast forward--you certainly can and it can pause, go back and whatever else you need. I keep buying this DVD because I don't have to learn yet another remote and I use it many many many hours a day and night. Some of the DVDs are refurbished and one of those lasted for over a year with continual viewing--gave it a workout. I'm going to buy another......all in all it is worth it and the price is right!!

This player does not play international DVDs. It gives an error "wrong region" message. If you just want a normal DVD player this is fine, but do not expect to watch and foreign movies on it.

used for only two years. now it is acting up. it says "no disk" and does not play even when I put the dvd disk. Where can I get help? I was trying to get help online and I stumbled here, so I thought as a responsible citizen, I should leave here some my two cents. Anybody out there who knows how to fix this?

This is a basic player.The tray is too flimsy and thin. If one is not careful, a disc can jam if not put in the tray carefully.The outside display is useful to check the disc time progression but is lacking when playing CDs since there is not indicators on the display for repeat all, etc.I like the bright finish and it looks great on the TV shelf.Fwd/Rwd works great if you use the arrow buttons on top of the remote; not the skip to next chapter buttons. You can still use the skip to next chapter buttons but you have to hold it down to fwd or rwd and risk skipping to the next chapter.To open the tray by remote, hold down the "stop" button. Doing this will also close it.This is a good basic player with no extras.

We have that DVD for about 2 weeks now. It is working great so far! (for domestic and for forein movies) Great buy!

Worked great when I first got it, then it just stopped after I had it for about 3 months. I see another reviewer had the same problem....I would not order this again, don't take the chance. I think I only used it 2 or 3 times in total.

All disk say no disk after extended period of time. Overstock is out of the item. Customer service good job in prompt refund but i have to start over finding one.

I baught this player for my grand daughter. I wanted something that would play anything without any trouble and this is just what the dr. ordered. for the price you can't go wrong picture is great operation is easy to understand great player. albert of chicago

It is a great product, so far so good. Great delivery, it was fine to connect I just needed an adapter. Would recommend

I love the quality of my picture on the tv from dvd player; my 17year old son likes also the features of being able to zoom into the picture to get a closer look or even zoom out it , does more than i expected, and works well with the converter boxes.

All the cords that come with it are really short and the power cord isn't even removable so you can't get a longer one if you want.It does play any dvd format you can throw at it though.It seems a bit flimsy to me though.But if you need something that plays everything and aren't worried about short cords this is for you.

my dvd player broke and i needed on fast but didn't have a lot ot spend. this was perfect! it's small and compact and works perfectly. i loved it so much that i'm going to buy one for my dad for christmas!
