I bought this for a friend and as far as I know there have been no complaints. His dughter liked the features that it had, and for the price, you can't go wrong. I boughta dual screen for my wife and after seeing what I bought for us and what I bought my friend, I wanted to swap out, but I was nice, I let him keep the better product.

It was Not all region taht can not work for region2 and the refurblished product did not work with power issue. Cheap price but no value.

The picture is great. Sadly it played one DVD and then the DVD player stopped working after we started our road trip:(. So far the iPod player still works. I hope to return it and try again, because if the player worked it would be a great unit!

I should state right off that I'm in the process of returning my DCP851/37x for replacement as it appears to be a faulty product. No audio, only static from the speakers and headphone jack, and video that's halting and freezes frequently. At first I thought this might be due to a sensitivity to the quality of the DVDs surface, having first tried it unsuccessfully with older DVDs that have the usual surface wear, then successfully with a relatively new disk with a perfect surface. However, the second time I started it up and initiated playback of a DiVX file on an SD card, I got exactly the same symptoms. I do hope the replacement works as expected, as I'd like to use this for the occasional long trip in the air and on the ground, and can see making use of all its features.

We had to order another one of these so we would have one for each vehicle...We keep one in each car for those long road trips, as it is great to have a portable entertainment system...The fact that you can port your ipod to it as well is a great feature.

this dvd player has a great picture quality. I use this player almost daily and haven't had it very long but so far so good!. This is my 3rd dvd player and so far, this is my favorite. I use it to play exercise dvd's while I watch tv so volume is a non-issue for me.

I purchased this item and the ipod dock worked great but the system would not read the dvd disc's, I tried brand new dvd's, old dvd's as well as cd's and it would not work. I immediately contacted customer service and they assisted me with no problem and sent me a replacement 2 days later; the new one works great, as if brand new. I am completely satisfied.

I am very satisfied with my portable dvd/ipod player. I read some of the earlier reviews and was a little nervous about what I had ordered. It's great to be able to not only watch my dvds but to also be able to watch my movies on my ipod on a larger screen. I definitely recommend this products to others.

It quit working all together within a half an hour. I was not sent the remote for it or the booklet that tells you about the functions, etc. We'll see how my refund goes and getting back the money for the two year extended warranty.

Inovative design, My other DVD player was stolen. This was it's replacement. The stolen Philips DCP850 Portable Region-free DVD Player (Refurbished) was fantastic! Great picture, great features. This unit, the Philips DCP851/37x Portable DVD/ iPod Player (Refurbished) doesn't have the same picture quality or the same sound and features. Good unit for the money though.

Had this product for about 3 weeks. Love it plays dvd's well. My Ipod docks in and plays videos great. Heard some other reviews that the dvd player was loud. We haven't had any problems with it. I would highly suggest it for anyone looking to by a dvd player for travel especially if you want to be able to play your ipod video through it. Great for kids. Just loaded up my 60 gig IPOD with kids movies and away we went on our 11 our road trip. Car power adapter was a great addition for traveling.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. I do agree with the other reviewers in that as your viewing angle increases, the screen resolution/brightness decreases This is not really an issue for us as it was purchased for my kid during long travels and he's the only one looking at it so he can adjust the viewing angle to his needs. iPod interface works well...sometimes you have to hit the selection buttons on the DVD player twice, but again, really not a big deal for us.

I was really excited to finally find a portable DVD/iPod player for a reasonable price. The down-side is the unit is refurbished, which in my experience, comes with some level of baggage. On this particular unit, the DVD player makes an awful amount of noise, clicks, and on rare occasions plays the DVD. Luckily, the main reason for this purchase was for the iPod functionality (along with the bonus SD card slot), so in my mind the purchase wasn't a total loss - which both work exactly as I needed. I'm a fan of Phillips products because they typically have that rare item I'm looking for, however, my continued perception is they create cheap products.

It says plays all regions? Nuh uh. It doesn't accept my zone 4 disks (British DVDs) and there's no way to change the zone. Even computers let you do that a few times. So that's a MAJOR PITA.Also the remote is not working consistently--about half the time it ignores our repeated button pressing.We've given up trying to use the remote and are just use the controls on the unit. Thank goodness that's possible possible or we'd have to send it back.Also it comes with mysterious black plastic bits that are not mentioned in the list of parts or in the guide.Otherwise, it really is easy to use and so far works great (haven't had it long enough to see if it holds a charge for a while) . Having two head phone jacks is particularly nice and it's good that we can watch even while it charges. Because of the ease of use and because the picture is really great, it gets 4 stars and not the one I'm tempted to give it for the dang region and remote issues.

Overall its a neat little gadget despite being a bit bulky I think it will serve its purpose perfectly.The dvd player is very portable, not only you can use it in the office, you may also take it with you on the road with the adapter it comes with. I wish it was a bit more sleek rather than bulky but everything seems stealth (ie. ipod dock, dvd) also i like the idea of it having a sd/mmc port, which enables the player to be a portrait album/frame.
