Overall, I really like this DVD player. However, we have had issues with the picture reverting back to a few colors. We have to shut down the player and restart whenever this happens.

This is an awesome product. But you need to use the USB feature in order to get the true value for it. No longer do I have to burn DVDs/CDs, I just copy movies/music into my USB drive and stick it into the USB port of the Phillips DVD player. A few seconds to recognize the USB drive and I am good to go. In terms of this being a refurbished item: so far so good. No issues to complain about aside from the fact that it arrived in a generic brown box as opposed to a "Phillips titled" box.

The dvd player arrived in 3 days, in a large brown shipping box marked Philips. I saw no signs that the unit had been used, only a few fingerprints. The /37B designation on the label meant refurb. All hacks for a retail /37 player will work. Once installed, I could see that the picture was sharper and the fast-forward faster, than my non-refurbished player. Tweaked, would describe the performance. (I did have to wisk away the dust in the tray with a 1.5 inch camel-hair paint brush before loading a DVD)......There are many features to be found in the menu. You can adjust the volume, add sound effect, set picture levels, and more. I tested fast-forward, Zoom (aspect ratio), and USB, everything was perfect. There are many aspect ratios available in Zoom, several for making the picture smaller. The only drawback I found, is that the first zoom enlarges the picture too much. The remote has a USB button, and it's the same remote as with a retail box unit and it could be a little larger. You will need to purchase 2 aaa batteries. ALL paperwork and a large manual is included. However, navigating the menu is not difficult. Up, Down, Left to Right, and Okay, is enough. There will be no holding down a second button to access a feature......Recalling that the bubble wrap had a pink USA electronic company inspection tag (including employee number & initials), I dropped the idea of moving to a digital set with HDMI cable for further testing. Get one now from the current lot, buy the 2 year insurance plan, and you can't go wrong !

This is a great product. Plug in a USB drive and you can Fast forward, rewind, pause just like a regular DVD. I have a LCD 52 inch TV and the video quality is very good.

I have nothing but positive comments for Overstock ! The prices are great and the shipping is fast and the product comes in a secure package/box. I bought this DVD player basically for watching DVD's on our HD tv, nothing special. It is a basic HDMI DVD player. It works for what its' supposed to do. I gave it 3 stars for ease of use since the remote has to be pointed directly at the player from a short distance in order for it to work, but thats not such a terrible thing since it was very affordable and does the job.

It took two days to arrive. This DVD player speaks for itself. Gives movie a whole new look. Quality is just excellent. I agree will one of the viewer when they stated that when you turn the DVD player on, it actually turns on the Television set without having any contact with my Directv converter box. This is GREAT. I also checked with Directv of a 1080p converter box to get more HD and was advised that they didn't make the converter box yet for the 1080p High Def and suggested I purchase a 1080p HD DVD player and get the same effect. This is very much true. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.

I received my product in a timely manner and have watched a couple of movies. The installation was easy I used HDMI cable and the picture quality is great. The unit will go into a standby mode if paused for a long period of time, but will restart the movie where it was paused. I think this is a very good unit for the price.

This is a great dvd player for the money but I was disappointed by the JPEG viewer. If you copy a bunch of photos to your flash drive and plug it into the USB port you'll get a very lame and slow interface. Compared to the Wii photo viewer, this is a big disappointment. But if all you want out of this unit is to play DVDs, then you'll be happy.

its a great player... plays file from avi player but the only thing that i don't like is the remote control. It does not have a USB button which mentioned in the manual but not available in the remote..

I am very pleased with this player. I wanted something simple and easy to use and this player meets all of my qualifications. I've only played about 25 movies on it, but so far it's been great.

This is a great DVD player. It pairs well with my 42" Magnavox LCD. If the TV is not on then it will turn it on once you put the DVD in and if the TV is on, it will switch to that input. Maybe this is standard now, but I have never seen one do that. The resolution is great at 1080p. I have been thoroughly happy with the quality and value.

The DVD player got here very quickly and my husband set it up without even opening the manual (although, he has tried to put together furniture without the manual as well.) At any rate, it is well worth the money we spent, and when you are watching a budget, refurbished is a nice alternative to buying new. The quality is amazing. We are very pleased!

To be honest, i think i forgot how a working dvd player actually runs. i have had my last one for years and im just happy to have something that reads the disk every time and doesnt need to be blown out every time because of dust. its a good dvd player and i love the fact that you can play the movie and skip forward and backward on the dvd player itself. its not something you NEED a remote for.

This is a great DVD player. The feature we really like is that you can load DivX or WMV files onto a flash drive and then view them via the USB port as long as your flash drive (or external hard drive) is FAT32 formatted.

The USB feature is great. Since this DVD player is refurbished, it seems like there is some humming noise it creates when you watch something from the USB...I guess I could return it to get a new one (but it works good enough for me).

I am completely satisfied with this DVD player. No problems whatsoever. Very nice having the USB connection on the front. For the money, it can't be beat. Highly recommend.
