Upon first looks, this sleek piece of modern necessity looks like it has it all. polished finish with chrome accents, minimalistic form and size, a simple amount of buttons, and just enough connectivity. after setting it up with my tv and surround sound system, i powered this player up to hear a rather annoying sound. nothing too much to worry about at first. the brand screensaver came up brightly and crisp, with a easily viewed status message. i place a dvd in that i know has incredible sound and visual appeal, and was very happy with the colors and sound being translated by this machine. but we return to the noise. if anyone has ever had a playstation 2 and used it as a dvd player, its the same type of annoying sound that the ps2 makes while playing a movie. a constant droning from the system reading the disc. luckily , the perfect volume on my setup blurs it away, but on lower volumes its faint and annoyingly in the background. the next issue is the remote. its a bit clumsy and oddly weighted, and , this is THE most annoying thing about this product overall, the buttons need a hefty amount of pressure to operate. and the fast forward and chapter skip are operated by the same button, which leads to skipping or rewinding an entire scene when you wanted to just fast forward or rewind a bit. i reccomend getting a universal remote and this should solve all your problems. or at least mine.
