I have a smart dog who had learned to open the patio door. This wasn't too bad most of the time except one day when we came home and found about 2 feet of snow on our living room floor where the dog had learned to open the door but sadly enpough had not learned to close it. We purchased this bar to use on the door and the problem has been solved. The dog is not tall enough to open this door security jam and it is easy enough to useby everyone in the family.

I am very pleased with the Patio Door Security Jam Bar that I purchased from Overstock.com. It was extremely easy to install, and very easy to place and remove when needed. I would definitely recommend this product for enhancing the security of sliding glass patio doors. When the bar is in place and secured - the patio door is definitely not going to move at all.
