This is a microwave/bake oven. Cooking can be done by either method or a combination of both. It compares favorably with my Sharp brand, no longer available. It took me a few uses to adjust to the differences, but not a difficult task.
I owend one of the early model Panasonic Genius Microwave/Convection ovens. The cost was more than others in 1986, but lasted until 2008 & we as a family used it a lot. I tried to get the high voltage transformer that burn up, but I was told that part has not been available for 4 years. I tracked down the new Genius models online at many different sites. Overstock had one of the better prices online. I've had good dealings with Overstock in the past, so I decided to buy my new Panasonic Genius here. It arrived here safe & sound by UPS. I'm very happy with the new Genius, even though the new controls took a little to get use to. Don't get me wrong, the new controls are very easy to use, I did not have to learn or think on the old Genius anymore. It was routine after 22 years of service to us. Time will tell, & I'm hoping this Genuis is the Genius that are 1st one was. So far so good. We are happy with the new one.
