I didn't find this camera as a simple take out of the box and start snapping great photos. It took some research in the manual to learn how the camera works and its incredible features. Now that I've done my homework, I wouldn't trade for anything. This xmas I bought my fiance a high zoom camera, but opted for a Nikon Coolpix L100, which is much simpler, but lacking high end features that I've found the Panasonic to have. If you are skuimish about digging into a user manual to learn all its features, the Panasonic may not be for you, but if you want a camera that offers some of the features of high end SLR cameras at a reasonable cost than grab this one up!! It is trully amazing, and no you can't have it...get your own.

I was very pleased to be able to purchase this particular camera (brand new), one because the IQ cannot be matched with any camera in it's class and second, this camera is not longer in production. I was undecided about which model Panasonic I would purchase (FZ35 or FZ40) so I went with the proven model and I am not dissappointed. It takes fabulous pictures and I purchased it at a fabulous price. Granted it doesn't have the longer zoom of it newer model, but then again 18x should be long enough for my use. If you have the chance to purchase this model, do it - you will not be dissappointed at all.

i got this shortly after my sister droped my small digital camera and it broke i take it every were with me i take pictures of varies things. I would recomend this camera to anyone its easy to use and wont buy nothing else again

I love this camera!! For the price, this is an awesome camera. It has a zillion settings, but the instruction manual is very easy to follow, if you want to learn how to use each setting. The camera also has a smart auto feature that you can set it to and just snap pictures...it does all the work. If you're not tech savvy, like myself you can take awesome pics without having to know how to use all of the settings. This smart setting automatically figures out what setting to use in each picture you are trying to take, VERY cool. One of the things I have always hated about digital cameras is the lag time. You hold the button and about 3 seconds later, it finally takes a picture. NOT this camera. It is just as fast as a camera with film. You push button...it takes picture with no lag!!! It comes with all the cables and software, but you will have to buy a memory card. The internal memory stores only about 6 pics. However, this is no biggie! I'm used to having to buy memory cards for everything and I got memory card at store for about 20 bucks! Buy this camera...you won't be sorry!!!

My son had received as a Christmas gift a point and shoot digital camera which his mother (me) accidently washed with a pair a jeans. Needless to say, I went to Overstock.com to see what was available for the same price point to fix my error. I was amazed that I was able to purchase a camera that had more features, including video than the original item for less money. The camera is fabulous - my son is happy and I am out of the dog house! This camera is a great value and appears to do a nice job. I haven't printed any of the photos yet but we are having a blast making movies and loops from our still photos.

My wife had an expensive Sony the past 12 years and loved it. The battery door broke and she asked for a new camera. I bought this one as a xmas present and she absolutely loves. She likes that it is lighter weight than the Sony, far greater zoom, and many other features. She is a Creative Memories Consultant and works with pictures online. She says the quality of the pictures is much better than that if her older Sony. She'd recommend to anyone.

camera takes very good pictures, operation is not hard if you have some experience with digital camera. instruction book well written.

I am very pleased with the camera. All the features are as I expected, as I have had a Panasonic Digital camera before. I travel; a lot and know. that I will find the 18 times tele very usefull. Panasonic makes a very good product, I just wish that their instruction booklet would be as good as their cameras. There is nothing in the instructions as to how to engage the digitas telephoto. I would not use it oftain but wish that I knew how to engage it. The instruction bookle is very basic, and not good enough. I would have given this camera 5 stars if they only had a better instruction booklet.

Daunting to look at all the options on this thing but just taking it out and shooting with it was fun and intuitive. Plenty of flexibility once you get familiar with it. Ive only begun to scratch the surface.

It is surprising light weight and the very portable size. The color and sharpness is amazing. Many friends have admired this camera and considering getting it for themselves in time for the summer.
