Great Organizer
djbe12345  from Orlando, FL,  Jun 6, 2007
This is a terrific PDA. I was going to buy a Treo phone/pda until I realized that my need for internet access didn't warrant the extra monthly expense(Treo's, as far as I know, don't have built-in WiFi). If you're like me and you're attracted to the idea of both simple operation and, of course, "free," wireless internet acccess, this baby's the one for you. Seriously, if you don't NEED a full-size laptop, this wireless (read: free internet) device can be used to quickly check e-mails, do google searches, mapquests, etc. in addition to doing everything else a PDA does to help organize a busy life. When I'm on the road, I usually have free wireless in my hotel or can find it fairly easily (Panera Bread's one popular option) and some (but not all) major hotel chains and airports. Plus I can load photos, videos and music for my personal enjoyment. Again, it's a must have if you don't quite need a laptop. In fact, even if you do use a laptop, the Palm TX can still be a handy tool. For example, It doesn't take forever to "boot up" like a computer so it's ready - and you're online - in seconds. Kudos to Palm - this one really hits a homerun and I truly enjoy using it everyday!

Packed with features... displayed on a bright, sharp screen.... but what good is all this when you have a piece of unreliable tech in your hands? And this is what characterizes my TX. After 6 months I still find it anything but intuitive to use and prone to more crashes than a penny stock. It almost makes me yearn for my previous PDA, powered by Windows...

Palm TX Handheld
kdbowlin  from Easton, MD,  Jul 3, 2008
I am happy with my puchase. Sometimes I have a problem with turning it on and off and it freezes while online, but what computer hasn't done that? The more I use it though, the better I am at controlling it. So overall I think it was a good purchase.

Good but...
bruce19  from Lafayette, IN,  Jun 15, 2008
Have been pleased with Palm TX but it does crash and re-boot when starting up certain applications. Once it does the re-boot it proceeds with the application. I don't know if this is a function of it being a refurb or if they all do it. Took me a couple days to figure out the music player. They want you to purchase a service but I found ways to get the music going for free and seems to be more user friendly. (Get a SD/USB adaptor and load music via your computer USB port onto the SD drive.)

Palm TX PDA
mnmswin  from Owensboro, KY,  May 25, 2008
This is a great product. I upgraded from the Palm m515. I love the wifi and the documents to go. Of course the standby address book (contacts) and calendar are why I bought the PDA in the first place. They are great! The ability to listen to music and look at photos or video are nice accompaniments. I was up and running really quickly.

No support
johnp2000  from Port Richey, FL,  May 23, 2008
I am still trying to struggle through the set-up of the Hotsync manager. This was not addressed in any detail and so far I have been able to gain only limited use of the hotsync. When I initiate the Hotsync, only parts of the calendar, notepad, etc upload. Most do not. Johnp

I LOVE this product. I work in a hospital and I always need access to my notes, uploadable programs, and calendar. I love the large screen and especially the built in WiFi. I was going to purchase a phone to get internet, but it was an extra $30 per month and in a couple of months, a new phone would be out and mine would be old! I love not paying for the WiFi at work/ coffee shops, etc. I highly recommend this product. The only downside was it was a birthday present and took 2+ weeks to get here, but it was worth the wait.

Palm TX
journeyman58  from Spartanberg SC,  Apr 29, 2008
The first one messed up soon after I bought it, but the nice people at overstock replaced it for me, even after my grace period thankyou very much. If you don't mind having a cell phone as well as a PDA this is a great device, pay extra for Kinoma software, it is worth it to view web pages and vidio. I like being able to use wi fi hot spots and my home network without having to turn on my computer, for convenience. I had a Palm T3 before and loved it for about 4 years moving up to the TX, and bieng able to move all my information between the two saved me alot of work. suffice to say I am pleased with my purchase.

Satisfied Overall
nclakerealtor  from Lake Norman, NC,  Apr 19, 2008
I've had this TX for about six months after first having a Clie, then a Palm Zire. This one is quite impressive compared to the others. I use lots of features, particularly the calendar, Documents to Go, Memo, Notepad, Media storage and showing and music on a card. Also like the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth which works with my cell phone to get on-line when out of Wi-Fi range. For a PDA, the screen is huge. I use it like a little computer. However, surfing the net is definately limited to basics. Blazer is OK, but not great. Also installed Opera browser, and sometimes that looks better. I occasionally have lock ups, but not very often. This is great to keep data and email access handy in a pocket sized form. I prefer keeping my phone and PDA separate, so this works for me better than a smart phone.

More than one palm
arabbitinthedesert  from From out of the Southwest of the USA,  Mar 24, 2008
This is more than an average palm. YOU have to charge the device before using and you have to install all of the software to use this device to work up to the the expectation that it claims to have. stay away from the games as they use too much of the battery to be useful to you during the day. Keep the charger handy as it does need attention. tranfer from pervious palms is simple just name it like the other and you will do fine and a "no braIner" to do. It is a bit hard to get the point and shoot sylist but you can calabrate it if you haven't used the palm for a while or it you are just beginning to use it out of the box. What you really are doing is training you hand-eye to do what the device already know. Keep in mind that this takes time at first but the quicker you do this the more useful you become and more efficent at what you do on this PDA. Works well if you have owned a Palm before. This is a organiser that you set up and you should devide them into business and personal information when it comes to contacts. Keeping tract of medical and personal business it another. A Date stamp would be nice too.

Great PDA
tbag30  from Salt Lake City, Utah,  Mar 11, 2008
While I don't use it to it's fullest potential I still enjoy it. I now have a more organized life thanks to this piece of technology. It works great - no problems.

Cool toy, but...
criches6  from Sugarcreek, OH,  Mar 6, 2008
It's a great gaget, but it's a bit hard to get around in. I had a Pocket PC with windows before this, and I really prefer that format. It's hard to organize your files the way you want them, the only way to exit out of a lot of programs is to go to the home button, some games and programs don't seem to work as well in the Palm format than they did in the windows format. But the WiFi is cool, if you can find a place that has it without a security code. It's quick, and the sound quality is good--but its not as easy to get around in as I said above. Overall, its fine, fun, and a great tool for keeping your info. close at hand.

Decent Product...

Decent product but lacks some features that are available in cheaper models. This model can also be bought other places cheaper. I should have done some further research before I purchased. But, it's still a good item.

Nice PDA
stl74  from Mansfield, CT,  Feb 28, 2008
I use my palm all the time at work and so far this one is performing well. I find it slow to switch between applications which I did not have on my T2 but the wi-fi is great. It came without a box which I did not expect but had all the accessories and was not difficult to set up with my desk top.

When trying to set the Palm up it had all sorts of weird things in it which we could not get past. We had to call the Palm help people and they had to remote the Palm to get it fixed. This was NOT free either. I don't know what was done to it but it was classified as "used" so I guess one has to trust that it still works correctly. Luckily at this time it is working I just hope it continues past the 30 days! Also, I was upset that I did not get the 10% first time buyer discount as informed by the operator I spoke with. The operators were very nice so don't think it was all bad just wasn't happy with the hassel we had to go through to get the thing working correctly. If I were to do it again I would probably buy one brand new.

I purchased the Palm TX for my husband for Christmas; he is a nurse who has to chart and take care of a 48 client case load. He uses it daily to do his rounds and notes that must be charted in his nursing notes in the nurse's station after charting on the files in the rooms/homes. He loves it and uses it daily! He loves the fact that it can work landscape or portrait style and says that it saves him tons of time b/c his workplace is not equiped with home to home computer systems.

Palm TX

a huge upgrade from the old Palm that I have. WiFi works well, but accessing web takes awhile. Still a great tool, so you do not have to pay for web service like with your phone. Would recommend if someone is looking for just a PDA as well. A lot of features that I have not already used.
