The cable operates electrically the way it is supposed to. I can charge the batteries, hot-sync etc. The price is decent. The disappointing part is the PDA connector does not stay connected if the PDA is moved around. The latching clips do not work well at all. I tweeked the metal latching clips with needle-nosed pliers to help it stay connected. It works better but not nearly as well as it should. I use mine in a mobile environment. The USB connector is plugged into my 12V power port in may vehicle and the serial connection in used to pass data between custom hardware and the PDA. The cable does not stay connected witht the PDA hanging in the mount even with the clips tweeked.I bought 2 and both are the same. I have a DeLorme/GPS cable that is only serial and it works fabulously. I wish it supplied power for charging!

Found cable to be exactly as described and worked well for my purpose. I had lost the original cable.

I am very happy with this product. A little hard for me to set up because of never having one, but thank God for the interactive visual guide,
