I woiuld not reccommend these to anyone....They are Cheap, and that definately shows. The sound quality was poor, tin sounding, could not hear any base in the sound. I wanted cheap waterproof speakers but these were not the answer. I am not a huge music buff, but these were bad. I returned them and ultimately just using $40 car speakers from **** that sound much better in the boat. No problems with them getting wet so far.

I wanted replacements for 5" units that were OEM. These fit and sound fine. Just what I expected for $**

I bought these speakers for shipment to the UK not because I think they are so wonderful (they are fine but nothing special) but because I have them in the cockpit of my boat and having replaced them 3-4 years ago the cover has UV'd out and they need changing again. They are sold as marine speakers, but I don't think are really suitable for outside use. That said, I've never found speakers that are, and it's a tall order for them to cope with Caribbean sun and salt spray. Having bought previous speakers the "same size" I found that this does not mean they fit the exact same cutouts which is why I ordered these from overstock despite the high cost of shipping to the UK. The overstock service was good - shipped promptly with good comms.

I bought these to replace the standard 6" speakers on my Sea Ray. They handle the power well enough and offer a decent sound for the money. I didn't want to spend too much on speakers because where these are mounted it will receive much abuse from sea water. The only con I have is that the holes in frame are not standard and will not line up with the standard pattern for this size speaker; it's not a big issue, but worth noting. I recommend these for the price, you can't beat it.

The speakers were well constructed and sound good. The only negative is that the mounting screws that were supplied are steel and subject to rust. I bought and used stainless steel screws to mount them.
