  One stick (of six) wasn't detected when originally installed. Swapping them around worked. Also works in Dell servers.

  I ordered a Lenovo ThinkStation E31 with the stock 4GB ECC RAM and added 2 of these DIMMs myself because of the cost savings. I found this product page by looking up Lenovo's exact part number, so there were no worries about compatibility. The RAM clicked into place without issues and everything was recognized properly after rebooting. The E31 was sluggish with the stock memory (Windows 8, Adobe CS4 Design), but it is now running circles around my old Mac Pro. I would definitely recommend buying this RAM and installing it yourself if you feel comfortable. The big catch is that if you have a small form factor workstation you will have to temporarily unscrew other parts (in this case, the heatsink) to access the RAM slots. If you are installing it in a regular tower, the technical bar of entry is much lower.
