Buying this product was a hard decision for me to make. But after buying it and installing it into my computer I was ecstatic about the improvement made to my laptop. It was well worth it. Only thing to be cautious about is making sure you know your computer can hold that much memory.

My 2007 iMac needed a memory boost and I searched the internet for a RAM module that is compatible. Hard to find, but finally found it at Overstock for a great price. Super-easy to install, I now have the memory that I need to extend the life of my computer so I won't need a new one for a few more years. I am 100% satisfied.

I have used Crucial memory for upgrade multiple times and have yet to experience a problem. 'O' typically has the best price (if you can catch the deals as they fly in and out) and, again, never a problem. I have bought this particular memory set for two ***** and installation is easy and works without great - even under high temperature conditions (that I do not recommend, however).

This was purchased as an upgrade from 1GB on an HP Pavilion dv6000-series laptop, and upon installation, the machine ran noticably faster. So fast, in fact, I wish I would have made such an upgrade years ago. :D
One common computer specification you'll hear often is computer memory. A good rule of thumb to know when selecting a computer is that more memory is better. Here are a few frequently asked questions about computer memory and memory upgrades to help you get started.
You might not know that you can upgrade the RAM (random access memory) of your desktop computer to boost speed and performance. Your computer uses RAM to shuffle and store temporary information while it makes calculations to run programs. This computer memory is different from your hard drive memory. The important thing to remember is that installing more memory on your desktop computer will give your computer more "room" to maneuver information quickly and efficiently. Don't be intimidated about opening up your desktop computer to install computer memory yourself. By taking proper precautions and following these steps, you'll learn how to upgrade your computer memory properly.
One of the issues that can slow down your laptop or notebook computer is too little memory. In this case, "memory" means random access memory (RAM). To run modern software applications, you'll want at least a few gigabytes of notebook memory. Many notebook computers are shipped with basic memory installed, but they have a maximum capacity that is at least double what the computer is originally sold with. Fortunately, you can upgrade the memory on your laptop in just a few minutes. Here are some tips on buying and installing additional RAM for your notebook computer.

With the bevy of options and features now available in cell phones, it's easy to find one perfect for you. Before you begin searching for your next cell phone, take the time to think about what you need your phone to do. Below, you'll learn the best cell phone features. Camera: Cell phone cameras can be quite handy when you happen upon a special moment without a regular digital camera on hand. Most camera phones don't take very high-resolution (usually 1.3 megapixel) pictures, but there are some that top out over 3 megapixels. Some cell phone cameras even have small flashes. If you want a camera phone, find out if it comes with the cable and software to connect to your computer, so you don't have to spend extra for a separate program. Video: Usually, camera phones that play video will also record video. Some non-camera cell phones also play video. Look to see if you can transfer movies from your phone to your computer. Web browsing: Many cell phones let you connect to the Internet. Most use Wireless Access Protocol (WAP), which allows the phone to connect to pages specifically designed for cell phones. There are many phones with full browsers, however, that allow you to view regular Web pages. Bluetooth: Bluetooth is a technology that allows you to transfer data wirelessly between devices. Wireless cell phone headsets use this technology, and it can also be used to transfer pictures, ringtones and other data between two cell phones or between cell phones and computers. Games: There are cell phones out there that have been designed with the gamer in mind, allowing you to download games that would compare to those found on a personal gaming system. Office software: Most cell phones feature some sort of a calendar and alarm. You can set a wake-up alarm or you can make it alert you for your next appointment. Other phones allow you to make notes for each appointment. Some let you create documents that can be transferred to your computer's word processor or spreadsheet. MP3 player: More and more cell phones are also MP3 players. Check to see if you need special headphones for listening (and if they're included), and pay attention to the phone's memory capacity. Memory expansion: Some phones, usually video or MP3 player phones, feature memory card slots, so you can save pictures, music or other files on removable flash memory. Voice dialing: If you absolutely have to use your cell phone while driving, you'll want one with voice dialing. The phone recognizes the contact you speak and places the call, allowing you to keep your eyes where they belong: on the road. Buy Cell Phones Back to Guides Directory Buy Cell Phones
