One of the best waterproof cameras
Excellent picture quality for a digital camera. The digital zoom is excellent. When you take the picture at full zoom, the image on the LCD screen looks grainy but once the picture is taken, the picture is clear and crisp. Overall, good buy.

Returning the Tough TG-1: grainy photos
I did not try this camera underwater. Though that was the draw and the reason I bought a camera at this price range, I realized righ taway that the indoor photos are of extremly grainy quality. I tried in different lights, different settings. Also took a night picture outdoors. All are grainy and about the quality of the first cell phone cameras. I'm going to return this. I had the Olympus Tough underwater camera that came out in 2006 or 2007 and it was awesome. Used it til it died last summer. It took better photos than this did. i've already bought the TG-820 (I think it's last years model?) from Best Buy and it also takes a poor quality indoor photo. If you're only looking for an underwater camera, disregard this review. If you are looking for a camera you can use dry & wet, I wouldn't recommend this at all. I'm not a pro but these snapshots should've come out with much better color quality.
