The biggest problem with the Olympus Stylus VG-180 16 Megapixel Compact Camera is the lack of instructions. I was able to figure out how to use the camera and delete pictures. But I still don't know how to turn the flash off an on and am generally not comfortable with working the settings. When I tried to put the flash back on -- don't know how it turned off -- I got some gobbledegook message about something with some code not something or other when something isn't set. What?! There are bare bones instructions about how to load and charge the battery. On the positive side, the camera takes good photos and it's clever how the USB cable is used to charge the battery as well as connects to the computer. I purchased an SDHC, because without it I can only take three photos at a time. I left a message for my daughter to help me load it but I finally figured out that by opening something it revels the SDHC slot. I haven't used it yet. I returned the USB cable I ordered because I didn't realize it came with the camera (wasn't clear on the description of product -- just said "USB yes" but nothing about cable. This seems to be a good camera but clear instructions are needed, especially for someone who in high school, the high tech was the electric typewriter.
I bought this camera as a cheap camera experiment. It has great features and took great pictures for the for the price point. However it is extremely fragile. I bought the platinum warranty for this product which saved me since in less than 24 hrs it had dropped about two feet and stopped functioning. If you do decide to buy this camera then please make sure you handle with care and do not drop it ever. This get a poor rating due to extreme lack of durability. But with proper care it may be a get a better rating from someone who does not have a cat.
