My 2nd Nikon Coolpix! LOVE!
I have been in the photography field for over 20 years and Nikon and Pentax are the only cameras I would have. I like having a "point and shoot" camera so that my husband - who is camera-challenged- could take pictures with ease. This is the second Nikon Coolpix we have owned. The only reason I had to purchase a new one is because the first was dropped and it broke a piece in the battery area and the door would constantly pop open- annoying! The only thing I would change is I wish the memory card was in a seperate compartment than the batteries, but most point and shoot cameras are made that way. I highly recommend this camera to anyone. It's extremely affordable, takes wonderful photos and is ultra easy to use. If my husband can use it, a monkey could....LOL

I only took a few pictures with it so far. But I was disappointed that it didn't come with a memory card. I had to buy one. I assumed all cameras come with one. It's a simple, basic camera, just what I need.

It's what it was supposed to be
I'm used to am was replacing the Nikon L3, which has a zoom function by buttons near the right top of the camera body back. The L23 zooms by a lever on the knob at the right top of the camera. This is not much difference, but I found the L3 slightly easier to use by thumb. The L23 is an adequate general use camera. I like it and hope to have it for years.
