  • Does what it promises

Always had problems with signal in the upstairs studio. The unit set up quickly, there are no instructions and it has a crappy control panel like most everything does these days. Messed with it for a half hour and got it working and my download speed doubled. It does what it promises with the signal, too bad it has the usual lack of instructions and unintuitive crappy icon driven control panel that seems to come with any computer component these days.

What can I say? Easy to install, took just a few minutes on the phone with Comcast to get it activated and saves me rental fees. I'm happy.

  • This product fails in what it was advertised for

I bought the Asus RT-N66u router to replace an old and cheap Linksys hoping for better routing and wider coverage. Instead this router did the opposite and I wish I did not purchase it. The router becomes overheated and dropped off connection without warning. The internet signals slowed down noticeably and cut off completely. Reconnection was done by itself within one minute and the whole thing repeated before a streaming song ended. I searched online and found others had reported this problem of "instability". The range of coverage is now no better than the old Linksys I replaced. I definitely would like to return this router to Overstock for a replacement or money back because it does not do what it was advertised for stronger signals and wider range. What a disappointment!

Works great with Lubuntu (a Linux OS) on a Dell Inspiron 5100 Laptop.

I thought this would work for me in my home. But it did not do as good as I thought. The signal was still weak in some areas, but my home is not built like your average home. So it may work in smaller more average built homes.
