At 54 Mbps, this wireless 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g PCI card is much faster than existing 11 Mbps wireless networks and will supercharge the delivery of media-rich content to your desktop PC as never before. It easily handles huge digital video and MP3 files, firing them through your network at blazing speeds. It gives you continuous access to your home wireless router or office network, saves the time and expense of installing Ethernet cabling when you want to set up or expand a network, and makes it simple to relocate your desktop PC without rewiring. NetGear Wireless Adapters

bcny from New York, NY, Sep 26, 2007

I bought one with my new computer, and it kept having this problem where it wouldn't be recognized and I had to reinstall it every time my computer shut down. Eventually, it would work again and then stop again, without any material changes in use or configuration. Now, about a year after I bought it , with the warranty freshly expired, it's completely broken down. Netgear's product has been terrible, and I would recommend against buying it.

netgear wg311

The product is not working like I planned. My signal level is too low. I don't know if the product is defactive or I need to troubleshoot further. when I use my laptop with a similar wireless product the signal strength is excellent no matter what part of the house I am. when I use this pci wg311 wilreless my signal strenth fluctuates from low to medium strength. I have not been able to find out what is causing signal to fade. I will troubleshoot farther and then get back to you'll if I need to send this product back for a replacement.

This was a refurbished item and it did not work once I installed it in my computer. I would not recommend purchasing this item.
